is it possible to overclock too much? -

I have a sapphire x1950 pro 512mb agp card and have been overclocking using ATT. The memory maxed out at 735 (702 stock), but so far i have had the clock speed up to 669 (580 stock) with no apparent problems - it runs through 3dmark06 fine. I have an Artic Cooling accellero x2 heatsink installed to replace the stock one.
My question is, is it possible to overclock the clock speed to much? I have been expecting to see artifacts or have a crash, but i keeping going up and up. My temps stay low (51 degrees max during 3dmark06 benching), so that doesn't seem a worry. Can you overclock the gpu until it breaks before you get any shutdowns or artifacts? Obviously i don't want to break my new card, i just want to see how much i can get out of it! I have gone a lot further than i thought i'd be able to.
