Default graphic tweaks? - 02-07-2007, 04:10 | posts: 2

Hey, I am a complete newbie when it comes to things like this and wasn't sure where else to ask..

Anyways I play a game called America's Army, and I found some pic's online where some one had made some tweaks that really changed the look of the game;

Map 1 (tweaks)
Map 1 (stock)

Map 2 (tweaks)
Map 2 (stock)

I was told that it was just some small 'D3D tweaks' using some kind of program.. But I have looked and fiddled around with a few programs, but no matter what I tried nothing came close to the changes like in the above pics.. Then again I am pretty clueless when it comes to things like this, but I am interested in learning how it could be done.. I was just hoping someone here might be able to explain to me how someone could achieve such changes? A little help would be much appreciated...

Are you sure those are tweaks and not dev mode?
Also, im pretty sure that counts as hacking, taking away all the textures would make spotting an enemy very easy...

Have a look over @ www.tweakguides.com, Karoush might have something usefull to add

BTW, welcome to G3D!

Well I was just talking to someone on msn about this and he told me,

'ATI-Tools & ATI-Tray Tools. Tools to tweak D3D settings, ATI-Tray to bind the game-profile & keys. You can use Powerstip too, but ATi-tools is better tho.'

He did not know what D3D settings though, or just did not want to give out that information to me, I don't know ... From what I hear, there are quite a few teams that are using 'tweaks' like this in matches but no matter who I ask I don't get a straight answer on how its done.. Even the admins of the TWL/CAL leagues have told me that they are aware of it, but atm there is nothing that can be done to stop it.. If its something that is known and being used I just don't find it fair that they try and keep it hidden while other teams are running around with it in matches.. OOH well I guess it can't be helped..

Thanks.
