Default Windows Vista - Yahoo/Live Messenger Woes - 01-17-2007, 22:11 | posts: 4,369 | Location: UK

Testing Windows Vista currently (MSDN) and I'm having a few troubles.
Using either the official Windows Live Messenger or Yahoo instant messenger client I'm unable to connect / sign in despite:

- Permitting access to the program in the windows firewall
- Manually adding each and every port in the exceptions list
- Dissabling the windows firewall

Skype is working but when I do two-way video calls it lags out (Issue i've had since Skype 3.0) so I've always used Messenger instead for this.

Ironically, Gaim (2.0 Beta 5) *is working* with MSN & Yahoo on Vista.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok seems both appear to be working now after leaving them the hell alone for a few hours. In the true spirit of new Microsoft Operating systems, intial silly problems miraculasly fix themselves.
