I am need to set up a server on my PC (Windows XP) for demonstration purposes and have been looking at shoutcast and Icecast2. I need something quick and easy to implement. I was pointed in the direction of Icecast2 because I know someone who is running an Internet radio station and it was recommended.
All I need to do is to encode an audio source (something already in digital format) and stream it to a WiFi access point to be picked up by a mobile device. It is strictly for demonstration purposes, I just need to get it working. I don't have the access point yet so I haven't had the chance to play around with both.
Does anyone have any experience of the two?
