Hi, I've bought ED 3D wireless glasses a week ago, and can't remember if it was from the begining but, during gameplay while the stereo mode is one when I take off glasses and look at LCD's, both of them from right side have couple of stains starting from edge about 2-3mm to left hand side. Is it normal or the piece I have is broken. In the games they work perfectly fine, and the stains are not visible when the glasses are on my head.

Thanks in advance

they they are probably fine..your just maybe seeing the glue are whatever they used to connect the two plastic pieces...you said yourself you can't see them in games. BTW do you use a LCD monitor or a CRT?

Thanks for reply.
The monitor I use us CRT samsung 959nf, VGA is GF 6600GT, the efect is same in all resolution and all refresh rates I've tried, from 60hz to 140hz. The thing is visible only when the 3d mode is activated, and the lcds become darker. When the 3d mode is off, lcds look ok. The thing is that the stains are not always same. The change from time to time. I've tried to atach picture of them into this post, but it want. Anyway that is in short my problem.

Card is GF 6600GT AGP. If you use original software/driver from EDimensional, which works as the said on other then nvidia cards, and TFT, I've tried that, remember what was the intros on first windows 95 games were. Interlaced. That is the same how it looks with ED software. Anyway, with nvidia v91.31 the lines are gone and the picture is if you ask me something worth paying money. Some games like LOTR Batle for middle earth, darks star one, don't work well or not at all, but belive me when your eyes got used this is realy something.
Glasses are rather light, as if you don't wear them at all, but the problem is that they are to fragile if you ask me.
About contacting Edimensional: I've tried through website, but there is something called: Order Number or Registration Number. Which I don't know, and without it I suppose they don't reply. I've tried couples of emails without, but no answer. And the glasses were bought in shop in Budapest, and the guys there don't have idea. And the problem is I don't live in Hungary, so before I take some road trip, I'd need to know is this "stains" from picture in previous posts normal working condition or not.

P.S. the games
without stereo if you ask me
now look rather pale

I would say if they don't bother you then don't worry about it...it is possible they are made that way..OR it's amanufacturing defect..I have contacted E-dimensional before over email and they email right back...try that..I can't see why they wouldn't get something going with you for a return if that's what you really want..or if they decide it's defective. On the other note, I have a ATI card...and a LCD monitor...E-dimen...says they work with both but how well?-that's what I want to figure out...I do have a CRT and I am considering getting a gamer cards soon...thx for your info..

No, sweat. Can you write me full url on which you wrote to EDimensional.
Anyway, If you can get NVidia, for past 5 years I jumped from ATI to NVidia, and
summ is I you ask me, NVidia is better suported, and the prices are more and less the same. Anyway on ATI prepare to watch interlaced games, but still even like that it looks awsome. EDImensional got that wraper (drivers,.. or what ever the called it) on which some games have really bad performances (like warcraft III for example). Good luck.

I've allready tried that link couple time. I guess I'll try by phone. Sometime fells like living in dark age

If your hear something about it let me know.
And if your monitor don't support refresh rate more than 100hz, belive me it isnt comfortable to play game for hours. But then again, you are talking to person who used old anaglyph paper glasses, from some comic book from the middle of 1990's, one which colors were switched so I had to wear them upsidedown, and stick them to normal glasses. And it worked just fine

Then I don't know what to tell you. I have a LCD but I also have a CRT that is capable of high refreash rate..so if it came to that I would use the CRT...

I believe mine have the same "stains" but I am not 100% certain... I will look tonight and let you know

BTW last time I check the drivers they had an option to switch the colors even change the colors completely.

And yes I recommend getting a monitor that will do 120hz at 1024x768 (or higher) which is equiv to 60hz per eye.

it's normal to have stains ... (but just on the margins ...) after few hours of work time the stains were there (I have some too - EYE3D from AnotherWorld)

I've used them for 2 years and they are still in TOP shape ...

The LCD shutter glasses tend to be darker when the refresh rate is higher because the flipping speed is higher LOL

They don't work or they work very POOR and BAD with LCD monitors ...

The minimum refresh rate that I recommend is minimum 120 Hz and it's decent at 150 Hz because the refresh is spilt by 2 for each eye ...

so at 150 Hz you left eyes get's 75 Hz and the right 75 Hz ...

BIG TRINITRON monitors are highly recommended !!!

I have a PROVIEW 17 inch and play at 800x600 at 120 Hz (60 Hz for each eye)

The contrast should be set to lower values (to reduce ghosting) and the gamma adjustment pretty high (CTRL+G increase, CTRL-G decrease)

as soon as you get used to them HIGHER SEPARATION gives better 3d impression (more eyestrain .... ) but this is it ...

I've kinda master myself in settings the games for 3d stereo ...

I want to buy asap a 21 inch CRT trinitron second hand for 100-150 EUR.... That will ge me 1024x768 at 120-150 Hz (I aim for 150 Hz) and that would be awesome ...

Now I only get 150 Hz at 640x480 and 120Hz at 800x600 .... (1024x768 100Hz - IS VERY BAD FOR EYES ... 50 for each ...)

I agree 50hz per eye sux, I can get away with 120hz but not for more than a couple of hours without bad eye strain. I will sometimes drop down to 800x600 for 150-160hz if I know I will be gaming for along time, then I can boost AF to max and make all graphics setting highest

Sad thing is I love gaming at 1280x1024 so I need a much better monitor

Thanks for info about stains. Now I can sit back and enjoy the gaming.
Does anybody tried glasses on digital TFT monitors. Are there any adapters RGB-to-DIGITAL signal. Is it posible on dual head graphic cards, with clone option on NVidia drivers, to produce output on digital output with TFT, and on analog output where tha adapter of glasses is conected.
