Looking for a good Phone/Mp3 Player -

So it looks like the old Motorola Rokr E1 is dying on me. I'm not very up to speed on all the uber phones on the market but I'm looking for something that mainly deals with music. Not really interested in online videos or crazy internet features...maybe some cool gaming abilities, but mainly just a kickass mp3 player to go along with it. I'm not a fan of caring around a gajillion gadget. I just need my phone and my music at all times, that's it .
I was looking at the Motorola SLVR since it can be had for only $100.00 brand new/unlocked on ebay.

It basically is the next-gen Rokr, and I really did love my rokr, but I was curious if anyone had any better suggestions.
Feel free to show off your awesome phones if you like .

My phones pretty cool, a Sony Ericsson V630i.

It does everything so music playing is in there and pretty dam good. It plays AAC as well as MP3 and it can multi task which means that you can leave apps running in the background. Audio quality is better than my ipod as well. And it has a memory cards, Sony's little fingernail sized M2 things. Unfortunately it's a vodafone exclusive one so I'm guessing you can't get it. But all new Sony Ericsson phones have this music playback functionality as standard. Plus the sony interface is the best I've used recently.

the rokr is not that good, i did extensive review searching of it and all mp3 phones and I finaly got the Sony Erricson W600, its the best I think, very powerfull cpu so it runs games and programs fast and goes thru its interface fast.
Plays MP3's without even using a headset as it had 3 speaker sterio built into the phone (i use it as a radio all the time)
You can make your own theme for the phone with free software (I made 2 and have posted them on the forums)
intresting design (swivle)
Plays videos and stuff too.
full duplex speaker phone and VERY loud at that + loud ringers
can use mp3s that are on the phone for ringers.
Only downfall I think is its only got internal memory 256mb I thing or 512, wich is enough for me as I have 4 videos and 30 songs right now on it and still lots of room left and when I want I just swich out songs. You can remedy this by getting a higher model like the w800 wich has a removable card but however they dont sell them in the US so you would have to import it and thus pay full price. the W600 I got for free after rebates with a new cell phone plan as cingular just started carring it.
The other one you may want to look into that caught my eye but was not in the US and now is, is the slider phone "chocolate" its a small phone that has mp3 function and looks very sleek. but I would do alot of review reading on it first. I need to find the site I used for my research its like the cell phone enthusiast place with lots of feedback.
Even the greatest sounding phones they find the flaws in and give you all the details. the W600 had so few flaws and complaints that it really took the gold. Great OS on it too.

I have the K750i, which is the same as the W810i , just without the button on the front which is a shortcut anyway, plus it doesn't come with the bigger SD Card.
Good phone.

The new ericsons are slightly out of my pricerange as they are $300.00+. The reason the slvr is so attractive is because of it's very low price.

Yeah, that's a sweet phone, but for ~$350 it's kinda out of my price range. I can't really go over $250.

Well if you can get another $20 you can buy Sony Ericsson W700I It is also good for an MP3. Sadly these are the ones i know that are good since my friend used to own this one in this post and now owns the other one in the post above. I can say that their music quality is quite good.

Yeah, that's the one I've been searching for after reading review after review. Looks like the best price/performance value. Since sound is the most important thing, I guess it would be wise to go with one of these models as opposed to another motorola iTunes based phone(I hate the interface and how slow they are). I like the w600 but unfortunately it only comes with 256mb onboard and no memory card slot. I'm looking to but a 2-4gb card shortly after my bank account bounces back from getting a new cell.

Look on the reviews. It says that a Memory stick Pro duo can be put into the phone for larger capacity.

I can't find one review that says the w600 has a memory card expansion. Most of them say it does not very clearly.

If going for a SLVR, the Motorola SLVR L7 comes with a memory card slot so you can put more MP3s in there. It is slightly thicker than the standard SLVR though (L6)

yeah the w600 does not have expandable memory but trust me 256 is alot when you use it wisley.
I have over 30 songs, 4 videos and a ton of games with memory to spare, all I need for a long bike ride and it only takes mintues to swap songs when I want new material (wich I actually dont need to do as it holds enough)
If you were going on some long trip I can see how the big space is good, but when your around a data source on a daily basis its not nearly as needed as many might think.

Well my rokr has a 2gb mini-sd card, so I don't really wanna downgrade size. I have an iPod connected directly to my car stereo via usb so this isn't for long trips. It's for everything else... but I'd still like a wide selection of music.
Right now I'm so ready to click the checkout buttom for the Sony Ericsson w700i, but I'm gonna go do a little more searching just to be sure.
Does anyone know any good sites? I've mainly been looking on eBay for new phones since everywhere else tacks on up to $100 more.

Ok, well after doing more research, I found out that my SIM card is not compatable with the sony ericsson w700. It is however compatable with the w810. I was originally going to order it off ebay for ~$335 but for $5 more, I was able to get it off of buy.com.
http://www.buy.com/retail/product.as...=0&dcaid=15890
After reading through all the horror stories of people getting italian phones, locked phones, or incorrect models from sleezy businesses off ebay, I think I'd rather buy from a company that will at least support the product they sell.
My wallet feels very light now. This better be one ****ing amazing phone . Technically I only spent ~$200 of my bank account money on this phone since I sold my broken rokr and 1 year old samsung flip phone on ebay for $150 total .
