Werid. Take a look at the manual. What's the res. that your PC is running?
If it's like this,
PC - 1024x768 then the LCD is 1024x768.
Set your PC res to 1366x768 if you can then it should work.
EDIT -
And welcome to guru3d forums, rippa1.

Are you by any chance using a Syntax Olevia TV?
Try the Powerstrip timings in my last post on this thread:
http://forums.entechtaiwan.net/viewt...ghlight=olevia
If you are, VGA only for 1:1 pixel ratio on the 32" Olevia.

i use the 27in Olevia/Syntax HDTV LCD for my pc.
what a mistake... man what a waste.
you cant use 1366x768 for these types of displays with teh nvidia cards.
im not sure what these people test these lcd's with but create a custom mode
1360x768 32bit 60hz
thats the only way it works for me.
HD modes above 720p are not supported on the DVI also which i found to be absolutely retarded.
so right now i use 720p and the screen is huge, i hate it!
i have the hd adapter coming tommorrow for my 7800 GTX so ill report back how well it works with component on the tv out.
it better be a nice crisp picture cuz if its not then this tv is getting returned

rippa i didnt ask,, are you using DVI or VGA ?
typically VGA will actually allow higher resolutions and MORE resolutions than dvi.
dvi is usually 1280x1024
vga is usually 1360/768
also try the HD cables that came with your card. normally HD is handled thru Component or HDMI. DVI is better than Component but few items willa ctually use DVI for HD.
so try the Component HD cables and see what happens. These are the VIVO cables you got. the Red Blue Green ones are the ones to use.
i have been using 720p mostly the last few days and its super crisp and nice but everything is too big.
if i force, now again im using DVI, 1080i the picture is out of focus, all fuzzy and the fonts and other items have a rainbow tint to them.
ive seen that before and i can never recal lif its the cable or the display.
ive tried several cables.
now there is also some major to remember.
i sells a/v cables every DVI cable i sell says it only supports 1280x1024. so can dvi infact properly handle anything higher than 1280x720 properly ? not sure but i have a DVI cable on my cable box and i use 1080i as the output and it looks great so..
Rippa cna you please link us to the TV. i would like to see it and download the manual.
ATI used to have in the ATI control panel under the section where you chose CRT, or LCD or TV or whatever for your output, you would click on it, and it would allow you to force 720p or 1080i
does ati still do that ? and if so try that.

I am using dvi to dvi cable, another one of my mates has a 32" LG lcd tv and as soon as he plugs it in to his pc it picks up the 1360x768 resolution automatically and he is using dvi to dvi cable. Here is the link to my tv, http://www.aria.co.uk/productsList.a...&Submit=submit it is one the black one with speakers on the side priced around £493,it says the make is Aria's own but it is in fact a Teco.My ati control panel says my tv is digital panel and also says maximum resolution is 1280x960 but this isn't right as the tv is supposed to support 1366x768.It also gives me the option to have an alternate dvi operational mode though i can't see how this can help.

Yes it's true very few HDTV's allow native resoltions through their PC mode. usually they only allow very few vesa resoltions like 1024x768 like you said. I bet your manual will confirm this. I know it's stupid, but at the moment very few HDTV's actually do thsi and even fewer allow dvi native resoltion. A LG or Samsung would have been a better a choice as they can do 1360x768 through dvi and vgad (although Samsung only has vga, but does have HDMI, althoough that is only dtv).
There is a way to try and force 1360x768 bymaking your tv think it's getting 1024x768. You need power strip for this, and it's hardly an ideal soloution. always check the full specs of a tv before buying. Always goto the company website and download the manual before purchasing, and see if it really fis your needs.

Okay I have my new 7950 gx2 hooked up to my non hdtv through s-video. When I play avi files that are in hdtv format, its fine on the monitor but it's all squeezed together on the tv because the 16:9 is forcing itself to fit on the 4:3 tv. My previous 6600gt and my old geforce 4 never had this problem. Id open an hdtv avi file and it would magically fit it perfectly on the monitor and on the 4:3 tv wihtout any adjustments, now I have to keep it out of full screen and drag the media player window to the right size everytime i open a video file and its very annoying. I don't understand why the 7950 gx2 can't be like my old video cards. I have my monitor at 1600X1200 but my tv only supports 1024X768. When i put my desktop resolution to 1024X768 it fixes this issue but that is very annoying have to switch back and forth from 1024X768 to 1600X1200 cause I always have to fix my icons on my desktop. My question is, is there a way to make my video card force all avi files displayed on the tv to 1024X768 while maintaining a 1600X1200 res on my desktop so I can just click the file and everythign is ready to go the way it used to be before I got my 7950 gx2?

I have a 32inch Panasonic Viera LCD, and I connect it to my PC uising a VGA cable, it supports 1360x768 fine, the image is crisp, if you use a good cable. Although, I did have to set the screen to use 1360x768 on the TV before I could get it to work properly, the default setting is 1024x768. If your TV has the setting then it'll allow you to change from XGA to WXGA.
Dizzyguy, instead of cloning your display from your monitor to TV, you could Extend it, using Dual view, that way you have an extended desktop at what ever resolution you see fit, and you could have it set to 1024x768 and still have your main desktop monitor at 1600x1200, all you have to do is play the video on the second screen.
