Laptops & Notebooks They’re completely portable, and they use less power and make less noise than desktop models. But what if you have questions ?

Overclocking a laptop -

Is it possible to o/c a core duo in the bios of a laptop.
When idle it would drop multi to lower the clock but at full noise would go to the o/c setting?.
I currently do this with my 146 opty using CrystalCPUID.
Possible to get the best of both worlds then. Get cheaper cpu but o/c to say 2.9ghz if lucky.
Does anyone make a notebook that has o/c facility in the bios?
Has anyone done this yet?

It's unlikely you'll find a laptop BIOS featuring OC settings, laptops have limited thermal dissipation and laptop manufacturers would would not include such options.
You may or may not have luck using clockgen.

Just thought with the core duo achieving great o/c's with no increase in vcore, thus little increase in heat, I'd try and find a brand that allows fsb adjustments.
I love my free mhz, even if only slight. Just can't live with the thought of a stock cpu.
Thought maybe acer or asus or metabox(asus) might offer fsb adjustment.
Anyone got one and willing to have a look in their bios for me?

Simply put there are no laptops that you can overclock.
You can however undervolt the cpu to save power and make less heat.
Also there is quite a bit of difference between a Core and a Core 2.

No mobile motherboard provides OC via its BIOS, but you can overclock your cpu within windows.
Have you tried SysTool 0.1?
