Ok i just setup this new set of Klipsch 4.1 TXH Speakers and they are *total overkill* If any of you are looking to upgrade your soundsystem and are considering going completely overboard i strongly suggest checking these out. I didnt see the specs on the box saying that there were in fact 2 - 6.5" cones on the sub. I turned the volume about 1/3 of the way up and i think my ears are bleeding. Needless to say, people walking by in the street can hear me dropping fusion mortars in T2 quite clearly. These things rock
I keep eye-balling those speakers every time I go to the store. I'm waiting for the price to get better than $299 USD.
Once it does, ROCK ON!

Buying the Klipsch setup is highly unnecessary. One can purchase the very respectable Boston Acoustics 4800, 4 speaker plus subwoofer surround sound solution for about US $150, coupled with the right sound card. Additionally, if you already have a subwoofer and/or some speakers, you can hook that up as well assuming you own a card capable of 5.1 audio; in my case that would be the Cambridge Soundworks-Soundworks and the Philips Acoustic Edge card. Finally, Klipsch offers extreme bass more than anything else, and this is definitely not good in a dorm or in any situation with other people around.

Holy Freakin COW Weaz!!!!

thank you for re:ing to that. For some reason i never checked this mssg after posting it. So glad i did

i knew i had the power button (kinda hard to miss that) but never noticed the jacks on the side. All this time i was thinking my TeamSound for T2 wouldnt work because something was wonky with my system. The very day i started using these speakers my TeamSound stopped working properly and i was like "no way it could be the speakers unless its some bizarre interferance created by them"

so umm.. yes there are 2 jacks on the side for headphones and i assume another pair of speakers if i wanted to use them. Only downside to it is my mic jack on my card and the headphone jack on the speakers are too far apart to split the cable without looking all Ghetto. ahh well...
Actually, I heard these (Klipsch) speakers on display at Best Buy, an US all-in-one electronics store. I don't know what soundcard they used in the computer.

I was surpised by the result: it sounded as if the tweeters were blown. All mid-range -- similar to Bose; and the bass sounded as though someone was beating a vat of jello with a flat wooden spoon. Awful.

Klipsch is known for its horns and high efficiency speakers. Has anyone seen any specs on them?

Overall, I have not heard a set of computer speakers that I have liked. I have not heard the Boston Accoustics though, and may look into those on down the line.
