I've never posted here before but I wanted to pass along some info on NVIDIA's new official drivers and the TNT2.

I have a Diamond Viper V770 TNT2Ultra. I was using the 5.32 drivers and DirectX 8.0a. After installing the 12.41, my score on 3DMark2001 went from 1420 to 1481. At PC Pitstop the video score increased from 100 percent to 121 percent. (I don't have 3dMark2000 anymore but my scores on that benchmark were around 2900).

Later Detonators haven't been much good for TNT cards but the 12.41 does seem to be an upgrade. I've used 2.08, 3.68 and 5.32. The 12.41 seem to be the best.

I know TNT owners come here looking for advice on the best drivers for their cards. I think 12.41 is a good recommendation. I'm confident I have the best (official) drivers for my card right now.
Yah, go with Nvidia's drivers, the newest officially released ones;
It's a pity Diamond ditched your card; it apparently kicks their newer s3 based viperII in tests.

now that's crazy. ever since 6.xx detonators use memory management that is optimized for gf series, so there's no way that 5.xx would perform worse then 6.xx 7.xx or any higher version. the best drivers for tnt series are still 5.xx and 2.xx

I know drivers above 5.xx aren't supposed to be better for the TNT, but all I can say is two of my benchmarks improved with 12.41. Maybe it's the 8.0 support, or maybe 12.41 is designed to be more TNT-friendly than the 6.xx, 7.xx? I dunno. I'm no expert.
BTW, I'm delaying upgrading my card as long as I can. New generations of cards are coming out so fast I figure the longer I can wait, the better.
I agree with you, mcartny with waiting to upgrade your card; I have the exact same card on a computer, but a Geforce2 in my other and the only difference I can see in games is anti-aliasing!
