Default 3dmark and PCI Device ID - 05-10-2005, 08:30 | posts: 13

I changed the device ID and to see if it worked used 3dmark, however 3dmark reports it still as the original card, ie in this case a 6200.

Does 3dmark2001 get the card type by investigating the hardwired device id directly ?

Regards

Andy

Well it makes a huge difference.
6200 and 6600 GPU series are designed for PCI-e, so when they are put on AGP cards they need a bridge chip who has a hardwired ID in it and you cannot "strap" it to anything else.
