> i recently downloaded the riva tuner 2.0 beta 2
It's not the latest version. Try to download RivaTuner 2.0 Release Candidate
> 1. are there presets for quality, speed... that can simply be enabled or do i have to do all the settings individually?
I had included some Quality presets in RivaTuner 2.0 RC for all NFS3/4/5 and Unreal/UT. All this games have major image quality problems if Detonator drivers were tuned incorrectly. For example NFS needs specific texel alignment settings and enabled table for emulation, Unreal need advanced W-Buffer format and specific LOD bias settings and so on. RivaTuner's presets will help you to fix it.
Preset (*.rtp file) is a kind of REG file. But it has some advantages - it can also remove values from registry and it uses macronames for registry key.
Preset launcher is not available in RivaTuner 2.0 RC, but u can apply presets via PowerUser page. Just open database for your drivers and then click "Merge preset" button. U can create presets via PowerUser page too.
BTW RivaTuner 2.0 RC2 will arrive soon. It will contain cool flexible preset/application launcher.
> 2. how do i enable the database settings for my 6.50 driver?
Download RivaTuner 2.0 Release Candidate
> 3.how do the database files work and where do i download them to?
RTD database file - it's a full list of registry entries used by specified driver. Database DOES NOT contain values for registry entries, it's just a list of entries, which u can change. So u don;t make any changes in your registry when u're loading RTD database.
Each entry in RTD databse contains description and default value for this entry. To change entries double click at it and edit it directly, or use context toolbar (right alick at entry to show it).
