I work with Audio recording and DVideo
Don't care about 3d that much.

Here is another example of using very old video card for audio FX card

The site does not seem to work?
But if i remember correctly, for audio processing acceleration, they don't demand Quadros, so pick the best GeForce card you can afford. If by any chance they demand Quadros, your best choice for softmodding is a 59XX card modded to Quadro FX 3000 or if you can afford it, a genuine Quadro FX 700 overclocked to Quadro FX 3000 speeds after replacing the passive cooling solution with an active one.
