Default wtf internet? - 09-06-2004, 17:41 | posts: n/a

I'm off at college now, and we have Wireless T3 internet, but i guess they limit the bandwidth, it sucks. I download fast off of websites only, p2p goes like 1 k/s, and you cant play games online cuz the internet is so terrible. I miss COD, CS, and downloading music =(

i've heard there are ways to get around this, some say remote desktop, some say set up a proxy...

can anyone help?

Well, they are just putting a cap on known P2P ports really. If you really need MUSIC try IRC. As far as getting around it, you would need to look into port tunneling and the like. IMO not worth the trouble. Basicly if you can get onto the P2P and tunnel its port through port 80 then you would be sitting pretty!

Your college will already being running you through a proxy.

There won't be a way around it.

Just have to live with it I'd say, besides it's against policy to be trying to get around it.
