    Hello,

I have built my own PCs for years but always used Nvidia GPUs. My old 9800 GX2 finally died and a friend has has given me his old 4870 x2 until I can upgrade.

I have found the right driver I think but, as with my old GX2, I needed SLI profiles for some games so BOTH the GPUs would work. I don't fully understand Crossfire or the use of profiles yet. So if anyone can give me a step-by-step guide or any advice at all on how I go about setting my card up to use both GPUs for some games it would much appreciated.

In the meantime I will trawl through this forum and look for help myself.

    Thanks

    Mikey

Using 13.2 beta 7 drivers, all game are listed under this driver for DIRECT crossfire.

    Working : 4850x2/4870x2/5970/6990 with win 7 32/64.

    I'm tested :

    5970 + 5970 (gain +60% at 1920x1200)
    4870x2 + 4870x2 (gain +45% at 1920x1200) but just +112% VS 1x 5970 :(

WITH 13.2 beta 7 and it's ok for me.

Profiles for games = Catalyst Control Center and if you're problem, use Radeon PRO for personnal profile.

    Update : Arg sorry, i kill himself, it's 13.2 b7 for 5970 and 12.11 b7 for 4870x2, sorry, sorry, sorry.

13.2 beta 7 for 4870x2 can never ever work except for a few select unimportant components....

The code simply isn't there...it's all been removed, as well as the device in the .inf. since ages.

    Crash fest...don't bother.

Simmer down the excitement ppl. It just doesn't work on 4870x2 nor anything below 5K unless anyone can show me proof to the contrary.

seb... well mikey, dont confuse driver profiles with personal CCC profiles

what games are you playing? the driver has its internal profiles along with the CAP that you can update from time to time

for games that dont have a profile & when they do not seem to improve by themselves, you can force a profile in CCC (force AFR or another game, or in rare cases disabling CF runs better or fixes artifacts)

for which driver to use... that's sorta personal preference (kev's, amd's latest, an older amd one, hack up your own package, etc)

    Thanks for all the responses.

I am using '13-1-legacy_vista_win7_win8_32_dd_ccc' driver. But, as a bove, I am a bit clueless as to how to change individual CCC profiles.

For example, I have Ghost Warrior 2 and it is only using one of my GPUs (and shows artifacts). How do I change the profile to make it use both of them.

Thanks for your patience. After being an Nvidia user for years it might take me a while to become less clueless than I am at the moment.

    EDIT:
I have found that using CCC and choosing 'Optimize 1x1' on Crossfire mode works for GW2. However, it doesn't seem optimised as both GPUs were only using about 60%. If anyone has any other tips/advice it would be much appreciated.

If anyone can get their 4870 X2 to use BOTH of the GPUs for Bioshock Infinite I would appreciate it if you could tell me how you got them to work please.
