It is made by CA(Total War series) so from $25.00 - $19.99, I will definitely buy.

It'll probably be a really decent port since CA are mainly PC devs. The best thing about this game were the giant battles, but on console your framerate would tank when there were so many enemies, but moving to PC should hopefully help fix this.

Warning, please do not buy this game until it has been patched.

It is capped @ 30FPS and there seems to be an issue with Nvidia cards where all text in the Main Menu does not show.

Is the text issue SLI-related as The Book of Unwritten Tales had the same issue which oddly isn't fixed even if you force Single GPU mode. Instead you have to disable SLI from the control panel.

Games runs fine for me (the graphics actually look pretty decent for an almost five year old game) EXCEPT for the missing text. It is absurd that this game was released for NVIDIA cards with this issue. The 30 fps cap doesn't bother me, although I'd obviously prefer it to run at 60 fps for that extra visual smoothness.

    *EDIT*
Disabling SLI from the NVIDIA control panel does NOT fix the missing text issue so at the moment this game is pretty much unplayable on NVIDIA graphics card as there's no text in the game as well (and no subtitles for that matter either).

Oh SEGA and Creative Assembly, you buffoons! :3eyes:

A different dev did the port, not CA. Still, pretty much fcked off.

So it crashes on AMD cards and has missing text on NVIDIA ones? So what did they actually use for testing then? Intel onboard graphics???

And publishers wonder why PC gamers moan so much. /rolls eyes

Apparently it works on older model Nvidia and AMD hardware, 400 series and below for Nvidia and 5000 series and below from AMD from what I can tell by those forum discussions, might also depend on drivers but I have not found any information about that.

EDIT: Game was updated, maybe it works now. :)

EDIT: Various game files were altered and the redistributable folder was added (And promptly deleted by me since I have updated versions installed.) so it should work now.

EDIT: Some game models were updated, launcher and exe file (Plus some .dll things.) and then also most shaders and a few localization changes for Polish and Russian languages, I think that's most of it, pretty big update.
(Release day patch in my opinion but it's nice to see them fixing the game.)

Good that they fixed it so quickly but it should never have happened in the first place IMO. The GTX 600 and current AMD 7000 series cards are hardly new after all.

Some screens, only real downside is that the game is still at 30 FPS but other than that it seems this patch fixed whatever other issues the game had, for now at least.

(First is from the intro movie, second is from a cutscene, I don't think it's in-game either.)

Yeah, game is working properly now. Played it for about an hour with no issues. It has dated somewhat since I played it on the Xbox 360 and it doesn't help that the text and menus are so obviously designed for 1280x720 not 1920x1200 so look soft and blurry. Also, the 30 fps feels oddly erratic despite never dropping - in the settlements it feels smooth but explore a bit and the framerate starts to feel sluggish/laggy, especially when there's rain. The audio is pretty terrible as well and there's no music score. Clearly this is a straight budget port so I shouldn't expect too much and despite its age its still pretty good fun in small doses. Worth £10 anyway.
