I've thought about the same thing but it honestly doesn't seem worth it. You can pick up a cheap 680 to SLI with and get far better numbers than the extra 20-30% a 780 will offer you. Also, I haven't seen any price drop yet in North America.

2gb vram = problems with modern /upcoming games.

Perhaps for better compatibility with msi afterburner the Gamer card should be your choice?

Yeah I'd like to, the plan is to use my holiday money to get one in January, I think they're freaking awesome tbh.
anyways researching which particular card to go for is one of the fun things when upgrading. But sure, are they both standard boards then? both have same power 6 pin + 8 pin? if one has x2 8 pin then go for that, or go for the one with the best board.

minimum frames is all that matters.

Personally I can run every game I have with my preferred setting @75fps.
though when batman PhysX goes full blast I have little to no leg-room, and leg-room is something I've grown used to.
2gb doesn't cut it, moab, sry to say.
it's up to you, there'll be the ti out soon, you gonna be able to remain happy with your 780 when that appears?

well i wanted ti but at 699$ it way off my price chart, for 499$ i can sell my 680 and some games with it to recover the lost price, then oc more 780 and be happier and might kiss ti stock speeds :D

ok i think i do it, getting ready.

I always skip one generation. Went from 570 OC to my 770 - you can really see a different. IMO its not worth going from generation to the next.

770 is basically 680 with oc so ye it the same gen. well after looking up much i decided for now against the 780, as the 680 with oc is not that far away.

yes at times it did, but it gonna cost me pretty good money even if i sell the 680. and it's still super fast for me, my next upgrade need to be 2x performance and not 33%-50% more. like if crysis 3 gtx 680 get 40fps my next card should have 75-80.

When I see it happen, I'll believe you. Until then, I highly doubt it's going to affect me since I'm not an AA whore.
