I didn't really see sufficient improvement in game load times to bother putting any on my SSD, so space isn't really a problem. Still though, I have page file tuned down to only 1GB.

With the pagefile disabled, Windows will read/write to ram for everything.

Are you running with a fast raid array?
Else you should see huge differences, specially when you wait for loading screens.

No, I'm not going to waste money on a RAID array of SSD's. That's absurd. Even the one I bought was too expensive.

Like 2 years back when SSD's were just being released and intel had the performance crown on ther X25-E/M drives i bought the 160GB version and pay'd like €420,- for it !!! :puke2: i was mad back then :p.

And games like Crysis/warhead loaded like 3sec faster then my normal drive ... :wanker::wanker::wanker::wanker::wanker::wanker:

    I have a Crucial M4 128GB SSD (OS) and Intel X25-M 160GB SSD (Games) ...

Just rejoined the club, as I have 12GB of RAM now, I thought I'd give it another go and see how it goes.

    LOL

How comes under Mkilbride's name it says he's banned, but next to his name the little green light is there suggesting he's online?

Disabling the pagefile forces Windows to actually use the installed ram.

Thats probably the biggest benefit right there, reclaimed Disk Space!

Especially for me as I only have a 128GB SSD for my OS, Apps and Games, gets low quite quick!

As stated many many times, many windows installations will simply not allow you to disable paging file.
There could be a million reasons such as stuff you installed, services you set to run, network drives (yes a real reason) etc.
Please remember, that in normal working conditions your ram will always take the brunt of your performance needs, so dont worry about disabling paging file with a machine like yours.

Theoretically there shouldnt be any slowdowns but there will be some games/programs that can go loco when its disabled. One for example being BF3, it will give you a Direct X error if you disable it so I just set it to 1GB just to be safe.
