TressFX 2.0 to be released by AMD - Now with hair, fur and grass physics

Its not a demo from AMD, but from a german reviewers site.

well its a tech demo, who cares if it doesn't look realistic (lightning), nvidia's Hair demo looked the same.


I for one Im really looking forward to see this improved tressfx2.0 in newer games

 

He would certainly be able to, now, IF TressFX had been an nVidia thing, I wonder if nVidia would allow AMD cards to use that tech, what do you think?:infinity:

 

Here are the bench marks 780 @ 1215/7008 (very stable clocks)

All maxed except AA (FXAA)

Thanks for the benches. Im hoping the 780 780 ti 3gb get a price drop in the next couple weeks and buy a couple 780ti if the price is right but I ain't holding my breath. If nothing changes im looking at a couple 780 classys and oc the piss out of them and grabbing a Samsung 840 pro ssd

 

Yup, definitely impressive.

 

NVidia's fur/hair module runs by DirectCompute within CoD Ghosts, Witcher 3 will probably be the same.
It's also a lot more efficient and stable may I add.

I still don't understand why they don't implement that face engine from L.A. Noire in every game. It was amazingly real. That would be awesome.

 

I really like the hair in Tomb Raider. Impressive game running on 7990 across three 24" Dells in Eyefinity. The original TressFX is impressive - would it be easy for them to add 2.0 to the game at all - i know there is zero incentive or commercial reason to.

 

They should add it to Mantle and totally ditch Microsoft DX and Nvidia for all their spend-more-money for exclusives muckety muck.

 

I'm more interesested on how the grass looks..Any videos with that?

 

Ok got it working now (Alt+Enter is the key) and AMD wasn't lying. Really twice as fast as the first one! 40 FPS to 85 FPS increase!

 

Yea. Real smart to cut out 65% of the discrete graphics market.
