I'm just making certain there isn't a bug in the latest runtimes. A friend who I sent the v44 file had a VC 2015 based program start to crash. I think he's worked out that it was something unrelated, but I want to make sure .

you know what I find funny with out install this and running the easy NGEN Permission on systems are all weird like before running it (first time) dont have access to some folders like c:\windows\temp but after it runs permissions are for most part fine.

No worries. Relating to my earlier message, the friend is going to do a clean install with the new insider build 14371 and see if that resolves the issue. If it does, then I'll release it .

No point releasing something that the only change in it could introduce a bug, that's all!

Yeah I can do that with the new version I'll release probably within a day. The issue I mentioned earlier was with 2015 redists 14.0.24123, I now have 14.0.24210 which I'll make sure doesn't have the issue. Looks good so far.

It's not that! Just there are a couple of known bugs in the update 3 runtimes, and certainly the build 24123 I mentioned, but now I know more information about these bugs they shouldn't affect most people. I just didn't want to make a release and have people run into issues.

I therefore will likely upload it within a couple of hours, I'll just mention there are some known bugs in the build in certain circumstances. Microsoft will possibly release a fixed runtime shortly, and that I'll update the installer with posthaste.

I only see 14.0.24210, have you got the x86 and x64 installers for 14.0.24212?

Version 14.0.24212 can be found for example inside Visual Studio 2015 folder ( i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0\VC\redist\1033 ) but not on Microsoft web site. :-(

 

From what I see of the install, it is still only 24210. If there is 24212 or latest available to someone it would be nice if they could upload it .

The current version of the installer should be fine even with update 3 compiled projects. It's just not the latest available runtime. Since there has been some known issues under certain scenarios reported with 24210 I thought it's best to wait until the main issues are resolved.
