Would you have rathered he/she not mention anything at all? I don't understand people these days... :bang:

In any case, if the only thing it does is add mobility support, it's kind of boring (unless you happen to be a HD 8xxx owner) :/ Regardless, thanks for posting it.

Apparently the AMD naming schedule is based on the year, such that the reason the HD8000M and HD8000 OEM cards are labelled as '8000' is because they were released in 2013. Of course, there are exceptions to this like the HD7990. Of course, this makes things confusing, as if they do release the HD8970 under that brand, it has to be pointed out it is very different to the HD8970 OEM, which is basically a HD7970.

Yes and no :) Since the driver is for the HD8000M series, thought someone might comment about the HD8000 series coming out. Just thought I'd point out the AMD weirdness with their GPU naming.

I have no problems with people posting drivers. I do think it's important to mention in the title whether they're for a specific card or platform as well as any possible description in the post itself. In this case I saw the title and thought "nice, an update" but it's for the mobility platform and useless for my 7950.

what's wrong with people posting new drivers? as long as we don't have multiple threads for each driver release I'm happy. thanks OP.

Posting just a link is as lazy as it gets. Asder posts all pertinent information so we know who it's for and what it's for. It's about the post quality not that it has been posted.

Nothing wrong with people posting new drivers. Thank god we don't have to rely on a single person. Besides, this thread would have dropped big time already if it weren't for the people posting about why it was posted in the first place, and those countering that statement, myself included.

In all fairness, and with respect towards Asder, I just look at the new posts, and if there are perhaps new drivers and the likes. The poster comes on the second place in that regard.

And? Maybe he's lazy. Do you know what else is lazy? not trying the driver and seeing for yourself if it's for your card. why can't you just enjoy that someone is posting a new driver? If you don't like it just wait for a post from Asder. The guy is trying to help, posts a new driver and people are giving him grief. WTF?

Perhaps he should have sent you a gift DVD in the mail, containing the driver with release notes and his own secret findings.

OP, I'll send you my address via PM. Posting driver links online is lazy. Boo boo.

    Don't forget some chocolates!

    Enough.

Time to discuss the actual drivers now folks.
