Must be Windows 8 only? Still on 1.2.1.331 on Win7 x64 here.

Everything.

Na but I didn't even know if Guru3D had a HDD section or anything at the time (this is the only section I visit 99% of the time, the other being Afterburner's forum). I probably should've just looked a bit better :p

I'm on Windows 8, but someone earlier reported they didn't see the update on Windows 7.

The latest AMD SATA driver for W7 is .331, tbh I usually stay away from Windows Update.......up to you tho.

I get all mine from StationDrivers.....

You´re so right, installed it by mistake and Win8 X64 bluescreened at reboot.. Had to do a system restore!

Maybe your HDD is in IDE mode....

That's unfortunate :/ The driver installed fine for me though. Can't say I notice any performance difference though.

Was it a STOP: 0x0000007B BSOD? If so, you are one of the many affected with a sb7xx board and newer AHCI drivers since 1.2.001.0321. On it's *.inf, AmdSataPMDisabled must be changed from 0 to 0xFF so windows can boot properly. It can also be done later (temporarily booting in IDE mode) with the respective registry change (0 to 255 in decimal), at least on W7.

PS: If the SB was in IDE mode, the AHCI driver update wouldn't even be suggested bu WU.

Checked the amd_sata.inf and it says:
;HKR, "Parameters\Device","AmdSataPMDisabled",%REG_DWORD%, 0xFF
So something else must be up..

Thanks tho! :)

Sorry for making you waste your time!
Weird, I've just downloaded the latest 13-4_vista_win7_win8_32-64_sb.exe. It seems to have 0xFF for the W8 *.inf, but the problematic 0 remains for the W7 file.

EDIT: Btw, please check a post by el_arantis at:
http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=447&threadid=163965&enterthread=y

That ";" on the start of the line will cause it to be skipped (albeit correct).

The correct AMD SATA driver for Win7 is 1.2.001.0337.

The other one is only for Windows 8.

The current 13-4_vista_win7_win8_32-64_sb.exe includes both 1.3.001.0068 for W8 (\W864A or \W8) and 1.2.001.0337 for W7 (\W764A or \W7).
