Google have unveiled a dramatic redesign to the Google Play Store (the update is version 4.0.16). The new design includes the design language that Google is aiming for with Google Now and Android 4.... Google unveils Play Store redesign
Can we hope that it isn't as slow as the current version? My old HTC Flyer running HC 3.2.1 can barely cope with the existing version. Quite possibly the size of bloat Google Play and Google Play Services has become could very well have something to do with it.
I've got no problem with it on my GNEX. It feels a lot smoother navigating it now than it did on the previous one.
Cool, I'll have to wait until I get home to test it on my tablet. I hope it does sort the issue out. Would love to root but I risk losing access to some programs.
Annoying that you still can't access the store from the Isle of Man as it says the "app is not available in my country" Bit poor really, have to use a UK VPN to get apps, ridiculous
Hmm I'm already on version 4.0.25 also it's a lot better than the old one the store was in need of a halo facelift.
smoother, bigger icons, i do like how it doesnt reload the page and such just to download... wish you can change the listings, will have to get used to it more
I manually downloaded 4.0.25 and its so much smoother on my HTC Flyer compared to 3.10.14. I'm missing local content, but a result overall!
dunno, I liked the old layout much better. love that they got rid of "accept 'n download" nonsense though.
Is this update automatic or do I have to download it manually? I normally check for updates in Google Play Store > My Apps but I'm guessing I cannot update the Store from within the Store itself. *EDIT* OK, I managed to find the link on my S3 and download and install the .apk file manually so I now have the new Play Store albeit without the promotional ads (the bottom two-thirds of the main screen is blank, presumably where there should be ads).
