Dunia 2.0 was alright, I guess, but it had very noticeable LOD issues though and shadows would visibly change from jagged low-res ones on the hills and cliffs to more detailed ones as you walked around even when the game was supposedly maxed out under DX10. It looked better IMO when it wasn't moving. Far Cry 3, nice as it looks, uses the same engine and also suffers from these issues too plus floating grass and holes in scenery!!! I don't think it looks anywhere near as impressive as Frostbite or CryEngine personally but each to their own.

Far Cry was bigger graphics jump for me than Crysis.
FC3 is great but that AO and flickering...OMG.

    Still...nothing out there comes close to CryTek/Cryengine 3/Crysis 3,
and we may yet see ULTRA setting

There are some textures that could do with some improvement but that's up to the community (Once mod support is fully enabled I guess.) and tessellation could be used a bit more aggressively, those brick walls are pretty flat. :D
(And the vegetation is still using sprites but I guess that grass and such in actual 3D would be kinda difficult to handle while still retaining good performance.)

(There's a number of holes in the maps and poor object placement at times - parallax "blur" as well on certain areas - but it's not too bad considering the size of the levels.)

It's hard to see the difference. Comparison images sometimes work better.

Like these for the original Crysis: http://www.tweakguides.com/images/Crysis_Textures.gif

    edit

Screen resolution can also come into play with image quality. So ideally you want highest res when comparing. Otherwise you'll never pick up on the texture quality differences.

I was about to say the exact same thing. The dude goes through and goes from low to medium to high, etc. The only way I'd be able to see anything is it went from low to very high. Even his little run tours were too long for me to be able to remember detail. It would have to be compared side by side.

+1 True. Going from Low to VeryHigh/Ultra is how you make the difference more pronounced and distinguishable.

I would really like it if you would do a Crysis 3 CPU comparison. The results should be very interesting since it's optimized for AMD.

I think it looks fine on the highest setting. Not sure why the would bother showing LOW settings for the PC.
The water still looks too thick.
