3200x1800 is 1.6x Super Sampling if your monitor is 1080p. So you will still see some aliasing. If you add 2x or 4x MSAA on top on it should be silky smooth.

I stopped using Downsampling as my monitor topped out at the same resolution... I just use SGSSAA or SSAA now for everything.

Downsampling by itself won't get all aliasing. (Unless you are downsampling by an order of 4x4 or more) You need to combine it with other AA methods.

A lot of screenshots don't tell the whole picture. How it looks in motion.

    If you are downsampling on a 1080p monitor, 3264x1836 is a better resolution to use (1.7 * 1.7, rather than 1.666666667 * 1.666666667)

Not for deferred rendering, such as Dead Space.

Ok man. Can you tell me how to have that resolution? What I need to do? To go to Nvidia Control Panel and set custom resolution and that's it?

It's possible to use SGSSAA in a LOT of deferred rendered games.

Dead space 1 works with SGSSAA as well.

    You should not. No.
At least i don't think so.

Yeah just like you would for 3200x1800 but instead of that, use the resolution I posted above.

My personal rule of thumb is just to take your base resolution, and set your downsampling resolutions only to the ones that are an even multiple of your widthxheight.

So 1920x1080 , 1.1 x 1.1 = 2112x1188 , if you multiply by one of those and the result returned isn't a whole number. Find the next one that is.

For 1366x768 for example, the only whole number multiples are 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x, 3x and so on.

how do I get outlast to run higher then 1440p?

I want to test with 3840x2160

I keep setting to the resolution in the cfg file and it plays the intro at that res but at the menu it goes back to 1440p res

edit: nevermind got it to work.

It depends on the game honestly.

If you are going to play games at that resolution, something like a 780Ti is your only current best bet.

You could need to make sure "Enable resolutions not exposed by the display" check box is ticked.

Also: Has anyone ever managed to downsample by more than a factor of 2x2 their native?

I'm trying to go above 3200x1800 on my 1600x900 monitor but it gives me a "resolution not supported by display" message even if my clck rate is under 165hz

What MrBonk said. You could also try Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) and add your native resolution but with 50Hz. That way it will appear in games and in windows.

I think i've seen a few users being able to go a little beyond that point ,but it seems that it's only possible on Kepler cards and on a HDTV via HDMI. It was difficult for me to achieve 4k on Fermi with custom timings :/

I can't set my resolution in CRU, instead of choosing vertical and horizontal lines like in NV control panel there is active pixels which won't accept the resolution.

This is what it looks like.

Dude could you share your settings for 3200x1800 and 2560x1440? I can only run 2560x1440 at 52hz and would love to run at 60hz
