I disagree, as it's freedom of expression. Besides, Bush is a terrible president, and he does look like a monkey, so I'll agree with her.

Whether or not a private company chooses to fire someone is an issue of freedom of association. =D

I don't think she deserves to be fired. Reporters need to be allowed to say some stupid crap every once in a while.

Yep, Freedom of Speech. She had the freedom to say whatever the hell she wanted, thats why shes not in jail. Now the company can do whatever they want with her. Besides, technically "Hate Speech" isn't covered under freedom of speech, which is why the KKK and other racist groups aren't allowed to operate publicly, and what she said could be considered by some right wingers as "Hate Speech". Personally, I think the whole things a little silly.

True, she has a right to say that as a citizen, but it is not appropriate for her to say this on the job as a reporter.

Regardless of how bad of a president Bush is, MSNBC being a major and respected news source should be responsible and fire her.

The game spot firing was just wrong... I think everyone has the right to freedom of expression but there is a fine line between expressing yourself and enciting racial/political hatred

You know, if that rule really applied, half of fox news reporters would be fired already.

I thought she was fairly funny..
She was referring to 'the monkey's' physical attractiveness compared to that other guy.
Bush well known as a "chimp-O-like". What's the big deal...???

And ''Scarborough'' didn't seem that taken aback. Her joke just fell a little flat... like all news reader's jokes do.

You American's need to get the stick out of your collective "ass". Politicians are 100% open to any and all ridicule.

Oh, nos it's the Americans! It's supposed to be serious news, she acted like she was high and made a dumb joke. If she does get fired it will be because of MSNBC's concern to appear credibilie, it's got nothing to do with general American public.

Somehow i think that MSNBC was not really right in firing her.
Why?? Maybe its because i heard far worse jokes by other reporters on different stations and they are not getting fired now are they???

I'm a ACLU member, and bleeding-heart liberal, but im pretty sure that journalists have a responsibility to remain neutral. That's a pretty dumb move. The freedom of speech remains as a right from the government intruding in the speech of others. Businesses and Society are different, freedom of speech doesn't apply there, nor does the constitution mention this.

President Bush does sway like a monkey. Nothing wrong with pointing it out.
