Interesting. I hope it's an IPS panel. Wish there were more specifications with regards to brightness, panel type and response time...

While the idea is nothing but awesomeness i doubt watching movies and playing games will be a problem due to the ratio not being supported.

I'll wait for the rest of the specs to decide if this is going to be my next monitor...

That's the problem with multi-display setups in general too. The advantage this has is that it doesn't have bezels ;)

  10. Looks made for watching movies without letterboxing, and also work applications.

Assuming games are quick to support this resolution (which is not hard to code at all), it would be a nice alternative to multi-monitor gaming.

At 4,953,600 pixels, is a bit more than double 1080p (4,147,200 pixels), is less demanding than any triple monitor setup and no annoying bezels.

This is excellent news. Almost exactly what I've been hoping for. I would actually rather a 3200x1800 panel in something like a 32" but this is still great news.

For those of you who are interested in this & coming from a 30" 16x10 panel (like me) here are the differences

Almost all games I play with my 21:9 is working correctly. Heck even old games like Half Life 2 and Doom 3 supports my 21:9 monitor.

Any idea on expected release date and cost?

One thing about these higher res panels is lack of 120Hz.

I almost bought the dell 2560x1080 monitor on sale on newegg right now. The 1080p resolution was a making me question it.
    This is perfect.

The only reason for me to possibly own a 1080p panel at this time is refresh rate.
    I don't think I could go back to 1080p.

    This is perfect.

34" should make it about the same height as a 26.5" right? the 29" was the same as a 23"

Also Quad HD for the sake of Quad HD isnt massivley appealing, it will require a crap ton of hardware at 4k to get a minimum 50fps to stop noticeble frame drops and it ultimatley means the overal graphical clarity is raised but the in game fidelity is going to be set back about 5 - 7 years .. consistently

This inbetween resolution gives you above 1440p crispness and a wider aspect to enjoy rather than a 40" 16:9 QHD TV plonked too close to your eyes

I hope the prices arent too insane i can see many people wanting this sweet spot and it even becoming the new standards for PC resolution.

That qnix is only 340$ however this one will easily go for 700$ to 800$

Yep, and I'm willing to pay for that. I just wasn't willing to pay 500+ for 2560x1440.

THat's because 120hz IPS panels don't exist. These are Ultrasharp displays which are for properly displaying high color gamut for use in photoshop, indesign, etc etc.

btw... i don't have any issues with the 60hz refresh rate on my two ultrasharp screens. They don't seem to suffer from the same garbage blurring and ghosting seen in lower end displays.
