I'm not 100% sure what the cause of it is, but the pub seems rather dead. When the 6th or 7th topic down is one with only 1 response, which was a mod who was locking it, I think this shows the sort of problem I'm talking about. I understand for some it may be a "religious weekend", but I've seen this happen more than once. I don't want to sound like a dick, but I think it is the policing actions by mods. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to have alot of the BS out of the way, but it seems the pendulum has swung to far. Imho, simply locking every thread that has a video or may contain a subject that may lead to people saying stupid stuff, isn't the kind of solution that makes this forum better. I'd rather have the opportunity to have a mature conversation with some people and get rid of those who are unable rather than have no discussion at all. I don't like trolling or flame baiting as much as the next guy, but it isn't all that interesting to be able to not discuss anything at all. Btw, not an accusation at the mods, who work tirelessly without any pay, just an observation and hopefully discussion about the issue.
Video's are discussed in the video thread. It got reposted there and we argued about it's content. So what's the problem there? North Korea, missile testing and flexing the military muscles again. Is that going to end up in a friendly enlightened debate, given the track record of the pub? I'm sure everyone has differing views on the subject. It is quiet at the moment, 44 members only and I see only 2 viewing this thread. Perhaps it is qt today. I'm sure your thread will bring a range of views.
I have noticed that it is rather quiet recently and not just this Easter weekend. No question regarding war/politics whatever threads as we all know what happens to them so hallryu is right. I'm sure it will pick up although to be honest I'd rather see a semi quiet pub than a spammy one
Quite pub = best pub for me. Plus, this forum is all about tech and mostly geeky habits, so it is no wonder non tech topics aren't popular)
Maybe forum dwellers are getting older. The younger folk have other means of communicating besides forums, and us older ones know how most threads will turn out and what kind of responses they'll get Just a random shot in the dark.
A busy Pub is a sign its a good one Unless the forum ran out of beer. It is a 4 day weekend, supposedly a "religious" one, so most people are just at home or out with family relaxing. Techy stuff is always slow on a public holiday.
Oh it certainly wasn't about any specific thread, especially not just that one. On a side note, I think I'm getting sick, so I'm just bumming it all around.
agreed...they should just remove the pub all it does is start problems and get closed leave every thing to tech and games only but there will always be flaming
I mostly visit and the audio section and the pub, occasionally open the nvidia, general hardware and games section. The audio section is already quite, if the pub is closed, i'll loose most of my time here...
I do miss the days when the vault of fail was great. nowadays it's mostly just pictures with inside jokes that rarely anyone gets the joke.
I agree I used to visit every day to see the pics and the jokes/comments.. but now with the 'Must post Picture to say anything rule' it's just dull. There was another site that tried it recently, not sure if they were joking but the next day I visited them their funny pic thread was back to normal & in full swing. Need more Swing not more rules. Mods should nudge wrongdoers to behave.. not lock threads. That's all I can say at the moment. Oh.. no one more thing The Forum needs a disclaimer in plain sight making it clear that the views expressed by members are not necessarily inline/endorsed/agreed with.. etc by Guru3d or its afiliates. In order to protect the Guru3d staff & Admins from any thoughts a poster might post. Otherwise advertisers might get nervous of the real world

including the other thread about older guru's that have stopped posting. didn't see any reason to just close that.
