    Hello,

I'm having an issue with my newly purchased monitor; the BenQ XL2410T. It is 3D vision compatible and supports 120hz @ 1920x1080 as native resolution. I have bought this monitor for that specific purpose.

However, I cannot go beyond 60hz no matter the resolution.
The monitor is plugged on my laptop (Asus G1) on the DVI output.
All my drivers are updated (motherboard, monitor, graphic card) and I'm running Windows 7 x64.
My nvidia card (Geforce 7700 Go) has been unsupported since 2009; I thought old drivers could be the culprit but even by installing the latest (301.34) using a modded INF, I still cannot go beyond 60hz.

    Please, help!

in 2d you get 120 hz in 3d you get 60hz per eye because of auto vsync if you use hdmi you get 24hz at 1080p so use DVI-D

I'm using DVI-D, and I'm not using 3D I don't care about it. I bought the monitor for the 120hz

It could very well be that your laptop doesn't have dual-link DVI out. Have you tried creating custom resolution? You could also try VGA out.

I tried custom resolution. Setting to 120hz gives me a "out of range" message. Setting to 100hz gives me a very blur image.
Using VGA I cannot go above 60 hz neither!

This or the cable isnt Dual Link.

My feeling is that the laptop/gfx dont support dual link DVI.
There was no mainstream need for it 6 years ago.

    Checking here
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Nvidia_graphics_processing_units
There is no mention of Dual Link DVI for the 7700 go, it is mentioned for some GPUs that support it around that time.
    By no means definitive though.

The problem here has to be the laptop not supporting DVI-D as Mufflore has pointed out. I own the newer XL2420T and it wont go over 60Hz if you use VGA.

How well does it reduce ghosting compared to the old model?
Thinking about replacing mine, but didn't find a good comparision between them.

No ghosting at all and windows appears smoother at 120hz. I have yet to test out the 3D.

I meant ghosting while using 3DVision.
My XL2410T has some when using it, but I did find a user comparision that states that the XL2420T has none with it's 3DVision2 support.
