Its about time i built a completely new build from the ground up. So far i have these..... Hardware. Corsair 900D Rampage 4 Extreme Black 4930k (Golden batch Cpu) Thanks RPG! 16GB Ram Xonar Xense Sennheiser 350 GTX 690 Corsair Ax1200i Watercooling gear. 3xRx360 triple Radiators. 1xKoolance RP-452X2 Dual 5.25" Reservoir v1.3 2xD5 Swiftech Vario Pumps 3 meters of clear Primochill "Thickest" Tubing-1\2" ID - 3\4" OD (13-19mm) Koolance 380i CPU block (Gonna send this back for refund and get Monoblock) 2xKoolance QD3 Male Quick Disconnect No Spill Coupling with G1/4" Thread black 2xKoolance QD3 Quick Disconnect No Spill Coupling Female G1/4" Thread Black Koolance VID-NX690 Water Block 20xXSPC 1650 RPM fans (There better performing than Gentle Typhoons and cheaper) EK-FB ASUS R4BE Monoblock Ill be using my x58 until around June/July which is when ill put this rig together. I will take my time however as the worst thing you can do when watercooling is cut corners and rush your build. I wish the 790 would also appear but for now ill be running with the 690. This came today..
The word "beast" springs to mind! Will you need three rads i'd have thought 2 would do it if it's just a 690 plus cpu..you got the space though I guess..
Yeah 2 is more than enough, the reason why hi have 3 is because i was going to put them in the unfinished Caselabs build from 2011. The 900D is so big i may as well put them in as its hard to fill. It dont really matter how many rads even if you had 20 rads, the water will reach an equalibrium in temperature regarding on your room temperature and fans that you use.
Yeah I had 3 rads and 3 d5 pumps one my old build. Temps didn't make difference with 2 of each. Mind you I had five blocks and 3 rads to push through. Still would of been more epic if Veteran kept the caslab.
In 2011 the Caselabs was the best case you could buy for Watercooling. Now in 2014 things a different. Caselabs still are one of the best cases money can buy but i simply became unattached to the Caselabs probably because there was no need to upgrade at the time. There are other alternative cases now that are just as good as Caselabs and tbh i hate Cases that are too big, the 900D is alittle too big for my liking but saying that you can get everything into it. Just ordered another SSD for this build, just waiting on the Monoblock to become instock and im more or less ready to go.
Yeah the qdcs are handy for taking out gpus without draining the entire loop which is a pain in the ass.

Looks good mate, I was going to use the 900D for my next build when haswell-E comes out. You going 2 SSD raid 0?
Yes mate i have 2x128gb drives which will be in raid 0. Gonna have dual os with xp for some old classics like m1 tank platoon 2 etc.
Yeah mate it is nice, im going to stay on this socket for a good while so may as well do the best i can and get as good as i can. I have to build everything around that Badass Cpu that i bought from you. Like a baby in its mothers arms, its needs to be cradled and cared for
This is going to be a monster build. Looking forward to it. Veteran - just wondering what made you go x79 and not wait for x99?
RPGamesplayer sold his 4930k, Rampage 4 Extreme and 16GB of Mushkin 2133mhz for £600 p+p. It was an offer not to be refused The 4930k has been able to hit 5ghz on 1.38v according to Rpgamesplayer on good water setup. Its a golden cpu, ive yet to see another that performs as well under water.
That's a very nice o/c and a very keen price from RPG! Think I would have been tempted had I seen it!
Exactly! It wouldnt have been around for long I dont plan on going x99 now, this will do me for gaming for a good few years. All i will upgrade is my gpu hence the QDC's. RPGamesplayer sells lots of things on here and he sells them for good prices. As Shaw Taylor MBE used to say you need to "Keep em peeled"
Got some stuff together, almost there, i have enough now to assemble, will be doing in any spare time that i get.
Interested in seeing how it works out, keep us updated. Been thinking of going water on my next build, although that's awhile away yet (Skylake).
