hey guys generally my pc can't really keep up with the newest game anymore and bassicly i don't like where i am performance wise.

Currently i have a 470GTX and i'm looking to upgrade it.

    current setup:

    Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3
    Intel i5 2500K
    Nvidia 470GTX
    Vengeance 8 GB DDR3-1600
    OCZ Agility 3 SATA III
    ST2000DM001 Barracuda 2TB Hard Drive

So bassicly looking around for the best upgrade i found the MSI N660Ti Power Edition 2GD5/OC to be the best upgrade.

I guess this would be the best upgrade wise bang for buck wouldn't it?

I can go for more expensive but i would like to hear the input from you guys before i buy anything.

    Thanks

    Have you tried overclocking it?

You'd be better served by a GTX670 in the long run...

I would also recommend a 670 on a 680 pcb if you can stretch your budget a little more

the card you chose for upgrade is a good choice. but if you go for a gtx 670 get a 4 gb edition.

if it has to be nvidia, it's one of the better options. but if you don't mind, AMD hd 7950 is easily the best value for money nowadays in it's price range.

The 470 has an insane amount of overclocking headroom, if you don't mind the temperatures or have custom cooling. With that said though, the 660TI isn't enough of an upgrade. Go for a 670, 680, or 7970. I came from a 470 to a 680 and it's about 2x as fast (stock clocks).

Well for MSI N660Ti Power Edition 2GD5/OC i'd be looking at € 269,00
And for the EVGA GeForce GTX 670 4GB Superclocked € 432,95

That's quite a bit more in price i know i'd be getting 2gb more but would such a hefty price increase really be worth it?

Even so what kind of increase would i'd be looking at?

I just went from gtx 480 with thermalright shaman and a decent oc to a hd 7950, also a worthy upgrade. I would probably avoid the gtx 660ti still, gtx 670 or hd 7950 if you're on a budget.

or you can buy a nice hd 7950 with 3gb vram for around $320. better than the gtx 660ti, also better than gtx 670 if you're overclocking.

The problem is that those are really your only worthwhile choices. I'd honestly recommend waiting until the next gen arrives, or find a second hand 470 for cheap and run two.

I went from a GTX470SOC to a GTX660ti awesome upgrade (most people under rate the 660ti or recommend a 7950) it plays every game I have at 1080p with all the eye candy on(except crysis3) I bought another and went Sli for the first time now I play crisis3 with all the eye candy on.

Is a great upgrade from a GTX470 if you can spend more it will depend on the games you play for me PhysX Arma3 a NVidia card is a must

a 470 at 900mhz smokes a stock 580/660ti. 660ti isnt much of an upgrade tbh. Youre looking at a 670 at minimum for an upgrade thats worthwhile..

hmmmm possibly but that's a 50% overclock!!! Also, it wont 'smoke' an overclocked 660ti so don't think the comparison is very helpful at all really.

    I had a Twin Frozr GTX470 that wouldn't do more than ~750mhz.

Personally, I would say 7950/670 bare minimum from the 470, otherwise you'll be buying another card next year sometime. Maybe that's OK with you, in which case the 660ti is OK.

im just speaking from experience. My 470 hit 900mhz easily, 470s are dialed back pretty low. beat my stock 580 lightnings at those clocks.

I went from a decently oced gtx 480 to hd 7950 and the performance increase was noticeable. Very noticeable indeed. so going from gtx 470 to hd 7950 is worth it imho.
