In this article we review NVIDIA's all new GeForce GTX 780 (with FCAT as well). The GeForce GTX 780 is a new high-end graphics card based on the Flagship product, the GTX Titan. This means it is base... GeForce GTX 780 review
Nice fps for very high resolutions, but on a simple 1080p you don't notice a dif. if you already have a 6 series card.
Yep nice card. Rrp £549 here in UK. Not sure that it warrants a £200 premium over the 680/7970, but thats the market thats been created by nvidia. Nice to see scan are selling em at rrp, those rip off merchants at overclockers have added an extra £50 onto the rrp.
could be good as titan while almost cost 50% less, impressive card. but if it would cost 550$ that would be win win win, however as titan cost 1000USD and that one 650 and can provide same performance, that also nice
I predicted around that price still much cheaper solution than a titan at around 80% of the performance
here we go now...hmmmm same voltage as titan and same 1150ish clocks. Now just to get on bios to help with throttle
I feel dirty, no I mean really, really dirty, as I ordered an EVGA GTX 780 from Scan UK about 15 minutes go for delivery on Saturday (I'm off from tomorrow until early June so it works out well for me). It cost me £550 + p&p, expensive, but it's cheaper than the Titan at least! And, yes, I know I will lose performance over my current setup but I really want to go back to a single GPU setup plus the extra 1 GB of VRAM will be very welcome. I play games v-synced at 1920x1200 on a 60 Hz IPS display so I think on reflection SLI was a bit overkill for me anyway. I'm going to sell my GTX 680s and that will help offset the cost of the GTX 780. And if anyone here in the UK and/or East Yorkshire is interested in buying one or both my GTX 680s (Zotac and Point of View) then please send me a message and we can talk prices (I'm thinking £250 each sounds about right but I'm flexible).
I only became interested in GPUs during the GTX 500 series, but it seems that this kind of pricing is nothing new from NVIDIA - sure they've increased a little bit, but that's probably just down to inflation over the years. Anyway, I'm a poor student at the moment so couldn't afford one if I wanted to - but they're out of my price point anyway. It's a nice card though, comparable to a Titan and offers a pretty substantial performance improvement over a 680.
Nice review. Any plans to review the EVGA 780. The one with the new cooler I mean? From what I;ve been reading over there, the FTW and Classified models will have that cooler as well.
@ Darren lol I was eying up the eVGA superclocked model at £561, but like the look of that ACX now. Gonna sleep on if for a few days though
Good review and decent card tbh. Scan have a good prices i see OCUK have bumped them up to £600 as usual. Still not worth me going to 2 of these from the 690, the performance gains would be minimal. Titan owners were ripped off now that ive seen this card. Oh well....
Will definitely buy them too that 384-bit Bus looks tastey + it isn't that much slower than a TITAN 4xSGSSAA here i come again but will wait a bit for some custom cooler designed ones.
Sheesh, the EVGA GTX 780 I bought for £549 is now showing on the Scan website as £595!!! I'm glad I ordered when I did! I do find it amazing that these expensive cards are not shipping with a games pack of some kind like AMD cards have.
