TitanFall - the new game from the former heads of Infinity Ward which gets published by EA - leaked a bit early through the GameInformer magazine. Details from the article: More over at http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=578141 Can't believe they use the Source engine - even if it is heavily modified... May be good news for modding the PC version though.
... delays in receiving the effect calculations back, it would chronically slow the game down to the point where it wouldn't be playable. Cloud processing is really only suitable for processing of collected data (such as anything running under Boinc etc).
Watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6F8kI_kWIMk Looks like only google and m$ have real clouds with enough boxes in enough places for it to work for Xbone. PC doesn't get to use it though, even though m$ make windows and the 360 version in it's entirety is being handled by a "hand-picked" studio sub contract. Gameplay looks pretty epic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODVZgqFKlb0 I too was amazed when I found out it's running on source engine. Standard game mode is like sp campaign merged into a 7 vs 7 multiplayer battle with ai bots thrown in as cannon fodder. (They have said 7 vs 7 isn't fixed as they are still building and tweaking; but that it felt right for that trailer). There's also going to be more standard game modes like tdm for if/when the campaign mode grows tiresome.
Yeah, I can't believe they're using the Source engine simply because it never screamed next-gen like Unreal or Crytek. Isn't this coming to the PS4 too... maybe a little delayed?
"- Plan to use Microsoft's Cloud for dedicated servers and physics and AI calculations" ....Cloud, for physics, and AI calculations? ....Why? How exactly is creating lag, a good idea? "- Source Engine. Building new engine = too much time." I gotta admit, this intrigues me, in general, i like the source engine, however the fact that they went with the source engine and yet they said they needed more power therefore they went with requiring (through them atleast) next gen consoles or PC, for a source engine game, intrigues me

This game looks like COD from the future... Still the mechs look very cool. Might give it a spin to see if i like it.
This game uses the Source engine... that ancient piece of coding... crikey! That engine ran on the original Xbox, that's how old it is!!! :O
My first impression was that it was similar to Unreal Tournament Titan mode, except the titan is a vehicle. Glad there's wall jumping in there, bringing back some more moving tactics in FPS games.
Omg I didn't notice it, but now that I rewatched it I can definitely see source there. Ancient engine, but still a great one if it can still look good in 2014!
Yeah .. that's why I kinda like it. An odd mix of Unreal and CoD .. with Mechs Definitely won't be in Day One but will be watching this closely.
