Is now a good time to buy a GTX760? I can get an MSI Twin Frozer OC for £189. Or are the prices going to come down before xmas, is there something better for the same price?
I had a 760, the performance is kinda disappointing. My opinion, save some more for a 770 or go AMD (280 or something).
Great card for 1080P gaming! Don't listen to the nay-sayers. They are the ones that need to always justify upgrading all the time anyways.... I just upgraded from 460 and my performance doubled across the board in everything!
Its not a great upgrade from 560ti OC.. I was thinking 760 also when i had 470 but difference was so small. So i got 280x that is equal to 770
You do realize that an OC'd GTX 460 is exactly the same as a GTX560 Ti with a few less Cuda cores right? So more or less you are going on the record as saying a GTX 760 is only a small upgrade over a OC'd GTX 460/ GTX560 Ti? LOL Ok I would like to see this link please...
Well, for me it was disappointing dude. Not saying it is a bad card. If you get a game like BF4 the 760 will struggle to run it at 1080p with high settings.
The benchmarks I have seen show quite a good improvement for the 760 over the 560ti. The 280x at £270 is out of my price range at the moment.
Not true at all. Why are you spreading false info? I play BF4 and have said card and using Ultra settings no AA im pegging 80+ FPS using fraps all maps...
real questions are: For how long do you want to use gtx760. We know you play at 1080p, do you intend to use AA in future? If you intend to use GTX760 for more than 1 year from now or even x2 760s in sli. You are going to hit vram before you run out of shader performance.
Not sure why some are saying what they are but truth is the GTX 760 is on par and in some cases faster then the GTX 670 before it. Some games it is a match for the GTX 680 so for them to say the GTX 760 is not that big of an upgrade over a GTX 560Ti is the same as saying the GTX 680 is not that much better then the GTX 560 Ti or GTX 660Ti...and we all know that is bull....
The 760 is a 660 with higher core clock and a 256-bit memory bus. It is a good card but they are clocked pretty much to their limit from the manufacture and most samples get to about 1250is boost clock. The 770 is a more attractive card with it's fully unlocked GK104 a full 6 SMX units as aposed to the 760's 4 SMX units. At that price range I vote 670 if you can find one 5 SMX units and 256-bit memory bus.
Guys as i sayd in my first post, it was my opinion, i cant play without AA or HBAO for example, i really enjoy all the eye candy and dont like to tone down graphics to get more FPS. That was what i meant with "High" settings. Sorry. uke2:
Common now, let us be honest. The GTX 760 also comes with 192 more Cuda cores as well. Higher bus path and more Cuda cores running at a higher speed = a much faster card regardless of the SMX units. Look at the scores mate...
Where are you getting £270 from? Just a quick 5 second browse shows they can be had for under £230, with nice coolers, we're talking Sapphire Dual-X. I'm sure they can be had for even less if you search for a few minutes. EDIT: Here's a MSI Gaming for £227 http://www.shop.bt.com/products/msi...hics, TV Tuners and I/O - Graphics&origin=pla Sure you do http://www.bf4blog.com/battlefield-4-retail-gpu-cpu-benchmarks/ 670 is a faster card no matter how you look at it, plus it'll also overclock better and will possibly be cheaper. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_760/27.html
Flimbo: 3 weeks ago I bought my Asus GTX 760 2GB here in Canada for $249.00 CAD. It also came with 2 full free games which are Splinter Cell Blacklist and AC4 Blackflag!
