So I am a huge PC gamer and I have been looking into getting a console, that's not next-gen, that's what my computer is for. My choices weened down to the wii-u and 3DS and the 3DS is a lot better right now! But then, I realized with my monster gaming pc I could upgrade my monitor to a bigger, better 27'' 2560x1440p PLS monitor. Which should I go for?? Try not to be biased on a PC hardware site. the 3DS and DS has a huge library of games I haven't really touched yet plus it will give me mobility and ability to lay down and game for a bit and not have to be at my computer desk. There's def games I'd be interested to play right away also, although there's a bunch of good pc games coming out soon and with my GTX 690 the new 27'' PLS 2560x1440p monitor would be bad ass.

Monitor. You just spent all that time researching it, just follow through with the purchase. The 3DS can come later.

I could always do a bit more research lol, it's my hobby, plus I already have a pc and a monitor dude. The 3DS XL will add another dimension to my gaming world :)

Well that's a fine way of looking at it, but if that's the case, just go with the 3DS then. I get the feeling that's more of what you want.

It all depends on what screen you have at the moment! Listing that would help greatly with any recommendation.

@IcE, how come only 4Ghz on your CPU?

Because I didn't feel like going higher. It's heavily undervolted right now at around 1.05V, and I like the low temps and power consumption. I don't use anything that requires more power anyway.

If I wanted to do that, I would have commented about you wanting to save power by undervolting your CPU, and having a GTX 680 :D

Lol, to be fair Kepler is quite efficient. 195W TDP is pretty low for a top tier card. My old 470 had a TDP 50W more and is not even half as fast. Now I know TDP doesn't necessarily indicate actual power consumption but it gives a good reference point.

    In that case, monitor first!

Theres more to 'next-gen' than gfx mate, and id hardly say the 3ds fill that niche.

How about get a 3d monitor and add a real 'dimension' to your gaming experience.

No I don't want to 3d game at this time dude, no thanks. I am really just looking at getting a 27'' PLS LED Monitor @ 2560x1440p or a Nintendo 3DS XL for the time being.

Is that a good one? Matte also so no or very little glare. It's a PLS so better quality and color.

The differences are slight, but I prefer PLS. Matte vs Glossy is up to you. I personally prefer matte since I don't like seeing my face in my monitor during mid day, but keep in mind it does lower the picture quality ever so slightly compared to a glossy panel.

Yeah I'm right by a window tho too so I will get some reflection, but I guess I can pull down the shades, so glossy would give me slighty better picture though should I just get that then?
