Early 80's I got an Intellivision game console, I was 10 or 11 years old. Mine had a keyboard and you could write basic code. It was the first experience I had with programming and had only 2k ram (learned the hard way.)

I'm honestly not sure it mine is still around - could be in a box stored at my fathers house, but here's a picture of one.

After the Intellivision I had a Commodor 64, then an Apple 2 of some sort, then a Radio Shack Tandy 4000 386 which was my first IBM PC compatable computer. The Tandy is also the first computer I started overclocking with, it came with a 25mhz 368, which I upgrade to a 33mhz cpu and overclocked it to 66mhz lol. Actually the Tandy was the first for so many things for me, upgrading, overclocking, installing/upgrading operating systems, connecting to the Internet (AOL LMAO), hard core-gaming (if you want to call it that back then), the list goes on - in fact because of the stuff I learned just messing around with the Tandy was what helped me land my first IT related job 25 years ago as a help desk specialist for a local ISP.

Thinking back through all that brought back great memories.

never really been that good with electronics being a historian so i'll have to call on the dark side....

The first item (closest thing I had to a computer) that was mine alone was the same as many others:

My first game with it was the original Mario Bros, the one that stank, not Super Mario Bros... but the game I most remember from it was:

It's almost impossible to forget its music.

will be good to play with the young ones for a bit of wtf/nostalgia..

That's where I stole my forum name from fair and square! Seems like it was the name of an Autumn Dragon if I remember correctly. We're talking about a game that I haven't seen for many, MANY years, but I retain the name!

I don't have any of that hardware anymore, so I'll keep it short by saying that I was born in '72 and have played with most everything that has been pictured here. ;)

My oldest functional "hardware" is an 1989 Gameboy wich I only got as a present second hand in like 1993 from a friend in Germany. Bought myself a brand new Gameboy Color some years later after that when I first visited Germany myself. :p

Acces to good consoles and PCs in those early post-communist times was very limited here in my country and chinese counterfeit/fake crap reigned for many, many years. And since I was still very much a kid I had a thing for handhelds and was satisfied until I got my first PC and borrowed a PS1 from a rich neighbour on a regular basis. :D
