Watching a stream on twitch right now! http://www.twitch.tv/vgztv Does this thing have quick saves? The checkpoint system looks awful. I'm not liking what I'm seeing at all
I guess it's the standard UE3 checkpoint system? (I thought it was using IDTech4 actually until just recently when I read in a article somewhere about the game really using UE3.)
Yeah it's UE3, the game just crashed for that guy and I saw the UE3 splash screen. Damn .. the knifing looks dreadful
Wow, that looks just fecking horrible. Visually, gameplay, sound design... everything looks just... wow. Bad.
Ludicrous gibs! Something I never realized about the original (1994) game: Source: http://www.3drealms.com/rott/originalspec.html
3 hours until unlock! Yeeeeeaaaaawwwwwwwwww. Cant friggin wait! Preloaded and ready to rock! Im actually going to play and beat the single player before I jump online, Ive been waiting for this since it was announced.
There's the usual UE3 tweaks but the game has a few special commands too such as these two which enable cloth simulation and debris. bPhysXEnabled=false bPhysXEnabledNetPlay=false And altering this should enable subtitles enableSubtitles=false (In ROTTGame.ini) There's these too but I don't know what they do yet. bGotSomethingCool=false wimplo=False bLudicrousSettings=false enableHead=false EDIT: wimplo when enabled makes it so that the boots of the enemies squeaks with a loud sound.
This game looks absolutely awful even on ludicrous settings. But it's still a lot of fun and I'm really enjoying it. Multiplayer is incredibly fast paced. People jumping around all over the place gibs flying everywhere. Good fun! 1/3 the price of Aliens: CM and 10x better
Only problem I have is with the key bindings. For some reason you can't bind any keys unless they are letters. They said it will be fixed in the next patch. It runs great and is very fast paced, shame the graphics are a bit rubbish.
I only had 45 minutes to fire this up last night, but am already having a blast with it. The game physics definitely feel different thatn FPS's I am used to, but I will adapt to it. I had trouble tweaking my mouse right where I like it... Some people here said it right, the gibs in this game are sick lol. I am loving the weapons as well. It looks good enough for an online FPS for me, but I am not surprised people are complaining about the visuals. PC gamers are a tough bunch to please. Does it look that bad, really? I don't think so. Then again, graphics are nice but have never been #1 in my book
Yeah I don't really care about having the greatest graphics in the games I play. However the enemy models do look terrible. They look like cardboard cut-outs when you get up close to them. And some of the animations are weird. Some enemies do a little roll towards you and steal your gun. I had no idea what was going on the first couple times because it seemed like the enemies just disappeared and then re-appeared and my gun was gone. Overall the game is really fun though.
