AMD Catalyst 11.8 WHQL (8.881 July 28) - Download & Discussion

I have not used driver sweeper for months now, it caused more issues than it ever solved IMO.

These days I just install straight away over the top and don't even bother with a reboot. And guess what? Works flawlessly.

Did you got some more performance on BFBC2 compared to 11.8 preview?

 

It seems smoother but of course that might just be the server.. my 6870 is at stock speeds and also i have lowered my CPU overclock down to 3.2Ghz from 3.4Ghz and BC2 still seems to run better

So far very happy with this driver set.

 

Catalyst 11.7 WHQL, 11.8 Preview, OpenGL 4.2 Preview, 11.8 WHQL, I'm having the same issue with all of them, for some reason the manual fan control in overdrive is disabled, the option is grey to me and it can't be enabled, but it works fine with 11.1a (haven't really bothered to try any driver after 11.4 due to the DCOM error).

 

Is there any way to change the "hz" of my 3DTV c7000 when i use 6770Mobility? i need to change it to the max (my tv has 240hz), but i dont know how can i change it, if i use the 60hz cant use the hd3d

I dont see the menus to change it, i have my tv connected via hdmi

That might also be caused by the changed overdrive, so try what i did, reinstall the drivers that do work (11.1a in your case), then just download the 11.8 display driver on its own from the individual downloads tab, and just install that on its own, that way, you'll have the latest driver, with the working manual fan control, as you'll still be on the 11.1a CCC.

 

Yeah, I guess I could try that, going to try it tomorrow since today I'm tired of installing and uninstalling drivers.

 

someone did a bench compared to 11.8 opengl 4.2?

Welcome to Guru3:thumbup: Yes, open CCC and look for this options:
HDTV Support ( Digital Flat Pannel )
If under the pre-defined options you do not find the resolution you use you need to create it under ( To create custom HDTV Format ) , i hope this helps.

Yeah, I'm worried about this as well lol. Maybe I'll stay @11.7 for a while. Waiting for 11.9

 

NOT great, 11.7 was a exception driver for my vga, I have fps loss in every game i tried, back to 11.7.

 

The BFBC2 hanging issue has been known for a while but it's good to see AMD actually acknowledging it this time.

It's been here since the 11.x series.

Just played BFBC2 for 2 hours with this new 11.8 no problem, little faster and smoother than before I had 11.7, I am please with this driver.

I haven't tried play with other games just yet.

my setting for BFBC2

1680x1050 native monitor

All max setting with 8xAA, 16xAF

avg 65-110 fps play on Oasis map 16vs16.

I like my 6870 for 140 bucks I grab it from EGG.:banana:

 

Does this fix the destroyed MLAA?
