@Steve30x the 690 IS "as fast as two 680s", since the hardware is identical to the 2x680 cards and only has little bit lower clocks (which can be OC by manufacturer) AND its more efficient than the 2 cards... http://www.guru3d.com/news.html#15763
For that price, Don't know why they didn't go to 4 Gig chips like the Non Ref 4 Gig cards about to come out. Later
I thought you didnt like dual gpu's?I remember you saying this a few times... Where did u pre-order from? @Steve the rumoured price will be the actual price,i have a good source.
CDW.com no i said i dont like quad sli because the scaling starts to suck big time past 2 cardsuke2: but generally i would take 2 cards over 1 single dual card
Sold one of my 580's....keep the other one as a physics card when i put in my 690...but the only question is...do i wait for customs cards to come out?
I would imagine so, that is what the crowbar was for. Plus, we have already saw an unboxing video, and since reviews usually take a few days i would imagine most sites already have them.
This is the most retarded product/price of all time. Base clock reduced from 1006mhz of 680 to 915mhz, but priced exactly double that of 680. Only of interest to someone who can fit no more than 1 2-slot card in their mobo (so they can get sli) - but that person is NOT the target market.
These cards are going to be wanted for high res gaming where you need more RAM, so having only 2GB of RAM per core is pretty retarded when there are 4GB 680s available.
Well done on promotion, look forward to beating you. Any benchmarks on this card? Sick of ATI's Missfire issues, would of bought a 590 last year if they did not blow up. Really considering this card.
Only Nvidia's own benchmarks. Should be lots of reviews on Thursday. You will still get issues with SLI, just different issues to what your used to.
The current issues I have with ATI are: 1. It takes them up to 2 months after a game release(Major or small) for a decent Xfire Profile(Many times these profiles just turn Xfire off for better performance). It seem Nvidia already have profiles ready 2 months "before" gamereleases. 2. Negative Xfire scaling 3. Buggy Drivers 4. Rage Still broken on ATI cards! As Carmack said ATI's communication with devs is piss poor. What issues will I encounter with Nvidia? Never had issues with my last SLI x2 6600's in 2004.
Ive never had any issues with sli either. More unboxing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH3kP8LZtBM&feature=player_embedded
