Hmm could be my motherboard then, well nonetheless still very good. 2700K 2600K any new IVY are strong without any oc.

Nice results OP. Here is a comparison with my CPU for you:

Man I hope my cpu will clock as good as yours. That is a nice low voltage. My friend couldn't get his stable at 4.8 and he was already at 1.45v.

Getting to 4.7GHz was a breeze. I've only had a short play with higher clocks and the voltage jump was quite big. I have to pick that up again at about 1.35v. I was nearly stable for 4.8GHz. I suspect 4.9 and 5 are going to be around 1.45v ish!

Here's my 3770k temps (for comparison).. The cpu is delidded and I used XSPC K2 for the chip and Indigo Xtreme 1155 between IHS and XSPC Raystorm block.

Before that, highest core temps under prime95 @ 4.6GHz HT on were 78-80 and after the procedure they're 48-51 or lower.. Huge improvement

Also my cpu doesnt require that much voltage considering it does 4.6 HT on @ 1.17 and 4.8 HT on @ 1.27 (12h prime stable) so i'm pretty pleased with the result.

^ youve gotten one of the better chips ive seen for ivy. what are temps for 5.0? im getting low 50s with a raystorm cpu block and ax360 rad

Nice result! Seems you have a very decent sandy chip! do you have pictures under load?

Of course Ivy are much warmer processors..
I use a nexxxos 360rad with 6 fans in push pull and a raystorm with indigo xtreme

So to the subject, beyond 4.8 @ 1.27 the voltage gaps per 100mhz overclock become bigger so I guess my cpu comes to its limits

I can run benchmarks 5.0ghz @ 1.41 but if I wanna be 12hours stable under prime95, the voltage needs to be 1.44

My 5ghz @ 1.44 temps under prime95 load are 65-66 max but under gaming its of course less (before delid they were 95-100 but that was without indigo xtreme :p)

Do you think Indigo Xtreme made that big of a difference? I'm using Noctua NT-H1 and my temps are terrible. I delidded, removed the glue put NT-H1 between the IHS and die and again between die and my CPU-370 Koolance. My temps loaded still hit 80c at stock, prior to delidding they were at 90c. I haven't lapped the cooler or anything but I feel like I either screwed something up or I just have a really bad CPU.

To the cpu load temperatures many factors play roles.. The size of the rad, the water flow, the tubing, the ambient temperature, the voltages, the chip itself are some of them.. but 80-90 under water and AT STOCK is just not right. Maybe you have to check on everything and see if there's a problem

The indigo xtreme made a 5-6 degree difference from the previous paste (mx4) which is remarkable, but not enough to cure the warm 3770k @ 1.44volt :p

I would like to comment on sth about mx4, which is not that relevant: I read everywhere on the internet that the mx4 is one of the best and obviously better than the xspc k2 paste that came with my xspc raystorm block.. but before trying indigo xtreme i did some tests and the k2 outperformed the mx4 by 2-3 degrees.. and i was like WTF! Maybe my block liked the k2 more because of the same brand haha

Back on topic, the delid itself made a huge difference (15-20 degrees) but that depends from the voltage and frequency (at higher frequencies and volts you will notice bigger differences than at stock settings)

    Edit: i haven't lapped either

    i run my i7 2700k @ 4.8ghz 24/7 @ 1.32v get nice temps 65 @ full load with prime95 happy with that ......:)

I think I'm going to try screwing around with reseating it. My loop has a 360 and a 120 and when the 900D comes it will have that plus a 480. My 690 never goes above 35c which according to other people is excellent performance. So I don't think my problem is my loop per se, I have feeling it's a problem with the way my block is mounted. If reseating doesn't lower temps maybe ill pick up a new block because at this point I'm out of ideas.

koolance 370 cpu block from what I've heard is a very decent one, so I dont think it is the problem, maybe the mount.. good luck!
