Lolwut? Why would they disable forcing settings through the Crap Control Center? Is the performance hit through the CCC really that bad and glitched? Oh well, RadeonPro is still doing its job.

Yet AMD/ATI with yet another piss poor job at fixing what really needs to be fixed

WTF kind of release notes are those.

why exactly would you release new software just to disable an optional feature?!?

also, what is it with disabling forced AA in practically every new CAP release? do they actually ever add something or only ever remove options and features?

It's like they are forced to release 1 every month even if it is a useless pointless one.

Don't they normally contain the previous CAP updates though?
(In this case 11.5 CAP5, sometimes stuff is removed or altered however, I can just see the basics via hex editing the .dll's though and as such can't dig into these files to see or compare exactly.)

That said what is this with disabling enforced AA, is it incompatible or non-working (If so why does it even matter.) or causes a performance hit or Crossfire problem?

Weird "fix" as it's of little actual use.
(Might be different with a newer card with SSAA capabilities or MLAA and similar though, still these profile updates usually do little but they've probably accumulated a bunch of fixes by now albeit as far as I'm aware most of it should be in the driver code now outside of this new one and the above catalyst profile of course due to how recent they are compare to when the driver went in for WHQL signing.)

The latest CAP contains all the previous updates.

    Keep in mind that:

    - Uninstall current CAP before install (in Control panel, Program/Feature)
    - Reboot after installing for the CAP to take effect.

The latest CAPS don't contain all previous CAP updates, its the latest drivers that AMD say contain all previous CAPS, but they are wrong, for example, the 11.6's are dated the 24th May, but were no released till the 15th June, now thats about 3 weeks later, the CAPS are weekly, so id like to know, how they can contain 3 weeks worth of CAPS, that were released, after their latest drivers were already finished and signed off by Microsoft. :p

newer caps are always containing all previous fixes, if something doesn't work like before it's removed on demand for conflicting issues or compatibility problems...that's it...end...

The AA in-game on DS3 dont work for me. I can set to 8x, but i dont see any diference. The image still aliased.

Looks like its bugged or dont work properly on Ati cards.

They can't do, look at the size of the latest CAP on the AMD website (its less than a mb), now surely if that CAP contained every single CAP previously, it would be a lot bigger than that.

    What perosmct said it's right.
It's a very little code change inside the atiapfxx.blb file between caps,(just the name of the game/exe and the code for it) if you take a look at previous releases you will see that it increase every time by 2 kb or less.
    Example:
    11.6 cap 1 170 KB (174.704 byte)
    11.5 cap 5 170 KB (174.448 byte)
    11.5 cap 4 168 KB (172.664 byte)
    11.5 cap 3 167 KB (171.952 byte)

I still have flickering on Shift 2 with HD 5970 and 11.6 CAP1. How to solve this problem?

Best option is to ditch the game. I guarentee you no more problems.

With respect to CAPS and their content, having only the latest cap is always ok. Don't stack up CAPS or your games will stop working properly. That being said, I think Rich_Guy is right that new drivers also have the cap embedded. Many people install latest drivers without CAPS and get good crossfire scaling.

I'll check Witcher 2 dissapearing health bars with this CAP in a moment.
    Hoping for the best.
