You should get an RMA, but if you don't I noticed EVGA's website is clearing house of their 980Ti's with prices under $200.

The only thing I can think of are high temps and unclean case.

Nope. The case has been cleaned out every month , no high temp at all.

The backplate looks pretty bend up, looks like it's touching the PCB.

    Maybe it finally short out.

Because the whole VRM and GPU blow up.
Basically, this is the card fault. Nothing to do with the user in anyway. RMA has been done.

Just an another nvidia card has been burned down.

    where to find the part

    Hi all,

I just joined to find this part. I have an R33 that just burned out too. It looks like the same smd in the picture that (#40)
GroinShooter posted with the burnt R33.

I have not been able to get anyone from Inno3d to contact me to see if still under, but I would rather just get the part and replace it.

Don't really know if you can even get those parts anywhere and if I you could you would have to be pretty accurate and well trained in soldering to replace the R33 cap by yourself. Best bet would be to get a replacement card if the card is still under warranty, check for warranty from the retailer you bought it from.

I noticed my card had a lot of strange brown goo on most of the solders all around the PCB. I wonder if anyone knows what it is although I suspect it's some kind of byproduct caused by the blown up cap.

The brown goo is probably burnt flux that's in the solder , caused by overheating

I am working on this because the card works but not enough voltage. The SMD is an inductor and will be easy to solder. I need to just get the part. I will probably buy this.

    Ebay item 162457867063
    I cant post links yet.

    Just hoping it will work.

Well if you do decide to try and replace the cap, report back on how it turns out :)

Btw, it is an Inductor. Just responding to get to 5 posts in order to post links and images when I do get the part and fix it.
