hey, i want to use the new pentium k g3258
if i buy a ASUS H81M-E (cheap price and oc bios today)
ther eis something i dont understand:
"*Before using the new Intel 4th Gen Core processors, we suggest that you first download the BIOS updater for new Intel 4th Gen Core Processors and then update the BIOS using this tool."

it means, i can't use the new pentium anniversary edition if i dont have the bios update? but i cant update the bios on this board without another socket 1150 cpu. confused :D

is there a way to patch the bios without a cpu installed?!

if you put a core K on an asus H81 right now you can already basic overclock (don't expect overclock as on Z chipset).

If it doesn't work with new CPU, Asus will bios upgrade.

    that's very kind...

so what theyre saying here is that u could overclock with these chipsets from the start they just had it disabled so u would pay more for the Z chipsets.

not at all... for a H81 (as i have build one recentely) you miss the Raid fonction, the rapid tech, and are stuck in 1600Mhz for the RAM... and many many small things.

but if you build a small softly overclocked rig with 1 SSD and 1 optical... yes 30€ is better than 130€ and the 100€ of difference can make you accept all the limitation...

*Edit* it's in ASUS DNA to outpass some limitation remember the P31 / P35 board with OC fonction

Wow that new Pentium chip seems like it is very overclockable @5ghz not to shabby.
