Is there any hope of it reaching the US$ 500 mark by mid-february ?

    I don't like the idea of dropping US$ 500, even less US$ 610 in a video-card now, but US$ 500 i think it's still viable

The 7950's will have non-ref cards on launch day, but they are not coming till Feb. now.

I've purchased a dozen or so XFX cards over the last year and I'll happilly vouch for them. Their lifetime warranty is excellent, they do indeed honor it, they generally don't care if you Overclock, and they have a pretty decent RMA process too. I sent one back that actually turned out to not be faulty (adapter issue) and they sent me a brand new one as a replacement anyway. Plus they have Rebates and free games frequently, ;)

I paid 500 Euro for mine (Switzerland).

Will pick it up today after work.
What is the best driver for this card at the moment? 12.1 preview?

    Thanks and regards

And I didn't buy the cheapest one. The Club3D is 479€ - they were sold out already though.

Switzerland generally has better prices since the shops don't increases prices for new products..the prices here stay quite stable all the time.

Ill get one BUUUTT after IB is out as my GPU is still good for me atm.

Also i want to save so i can just buy all new parts at the same time instead of having a 7970 sat in a box teasing me xD

Can't see the link but if it's a UK site then it is hardly surprising as we live in a country where pretty everything costs more than the rest of the world and, especially, the U.S.

At £450+ these cards are outrageously priced although they do have twice the memory of a standard GTX 580 I guess which only adds to the cost. I guess I'm going to have to get used to that price range for a top-tier card though as I don't suppose the new NVIDIA GTX 780 (or whatever it'll be called) will come much cheaper either at launch. I expect prices to settle after a few months to around £400 which is really the most I'd prefer to pay for a high-end graphics card.
