How come there wasn't a increase in performance in World in Conflict? Also I did the same thing as you I sold my 8800 GTS 320 and plan to get the 8800 GT. Since I am going up in Vram won't I see even more of a gain?

Also which brand did you get?

Maybe you should ask the WIC developpers that :)

You will see a bigger performance increase then me because you are coming from 320MB. In WIC there is a big difference between de 320MB and the 640MB card.

And you asked about the brand? Read #2 in the review.

I am not confusing it at all you clearly said 16xaa and as far as i know aa= antialisng, and af= anisotropic filtering, thats why i asked you to confirm it.

Even with 16xaf and very high settings at 1280x1024 40+ seems a bit high but definately more believable.

And the reason I am skeptical is that I score reasonably well in 3dmark06 for e.g but in crysis I get 25fps. So naturaly hearing 40+ fps at very high settings is gonna make me wonder.

On the benchmarks you can clearly see AF, not AA.

Then you ask me to confirm the performance, sorry that I missed that you changed a letter there. You asked me to confirm something I never posted. Again, I didn't see you asked about 16xAA but if you ask for something else, it's not really confirmation now is it?

Just view the benchmarks, AA is not enabled, only 16xAF.

On the benchmark it says AA, thats why I was so surprised I even quoted it in my first post.

Where do you see "AA" on this:

Dude, get your eyes checked :D

I was referring to that part there and I also quoted it in the first post so maybe you should have your eyes checked and pay more attention :p

And I dont know if its my browser but that image doesnt even show up in your post containing the other benchmarks.

In any case that clears up the results and by the way thanks for running the tests :D

Edit: after seeing that benchmark image I am having serious doubts that you are scoring 30fps on a stock 8800gts with crysis at 1280x1024 and with the (dx10 tweaked) very high settings and 16xaf, whereas I score 25 with the same settings without 16x af and my overclocked 8800gts.

Sorry, didn't know I wrote AA under the image. But I can't help you with your performance. I don't know why your performance is so much lower.

heres some more reading if anyone needs more confirmation:

If you read the earlier posts youll see that when I ran the test with my rig at 2.4ghz it showed no effect, and are you suggesting he gets 30 with a stock gts and im getting 25 with one clocked to the max?

Also read the above thread for crysis benchmarks.

I've read both threads and you really got me clueless. I have idea how come I score that much higher.

    UPDATE:

Some people requested a benchmark from me on another forum, might aswell post it here:

That's right, this time it got above 41 :D

just an fyi guys... crysis does its own AF depending on med / high / v. high ... just go in your cp and tell your card to let the app control AF.

i know this because when i played the demo in med w 16AF i noticed a conflict (brushes in the distance couldnt be drawn quite right).

anyways, my point is it doesnt really matter what you set your AF to, cause the app adjusts the AF itself depending on the graphics setting you use in game.

I just force it with Nvidia CP. Can you give me screenshot with those brushes?

also to op thinking your card is in ultra terrirtory... it isnt. the gtx is still faster than the gt, and the ultras still faster than the gtx... you should know that!

its pretty darn close for the price though!

I have serious doubts that the GTX can run with some of the massively overclocked 8800GT's. Guys are already hitting 850mhz on the cores. I haven't seen a comparison benchmark yet, but we already have this one from AnandTech and this is with both cards at stock.

You would figure with a 200mhz overclock on the 8800GT core that you could pass the GTX performance considering there is like a 6% difference between the two cards.

You realy think that my overclocked card is not faster then the GTX? You are the one who should know that it is!

ok, ok i didnt realize you were comparing your overclocked gt to a stock ultra... (pretty silly comparison tho... if youre gonna compare either oc all cards or leave em all stock... otherwise its a misleading statement.)

Haha, how is comparing an overclocked $250 card to a stock $600 card an unfair comparison?
