I've been thinking of doing a little ram upgrade. I'm looking at some G Skill Ripjaws @ 1866. Not sure if it would be worth it, in terms of gains in OC'ing. Any opinions?

I installed the rollup. Also, I'm running my ram @ 2006 MHz. I haven't encountered any instability while running p95, Sandra or OCCT. Here are my most recent results from 3D Mark 2011.

Quite a bit better! Thanks for all your help Taint3d. I'm going to keep working and see what else I can push out this cpu and gpu.

^What are your BIOS settings? What BSOD code?

About the ram, 1600 should be plenty...

    Finally broke 10k for graphics.

    Mutli @ 18.5 FSB @ 250
Vcore @ 1.488 on full load
CPU LLC @ Ultra High CPU/NB LLC @ High
    CPU Current @ 120% CPU/NB Current @ 120%
    CPU power phase @ optimized

Turbo is disabled, C1E is disabled, CnQ is disabled, SVW is disabled....pretty much everything in that menu is disabled. I would post a SS from bios but I have no idea where my thumb drive is.

why is CnQ & C1E disabled?

What about the cpu/nb and HT? Do u recall the bsod code?

Just asking since I have the same mobo as you also I can clock up to ~5Ghz stable but runs too hot...bummer

I've been playing around with my OC settings, so I've disabled them until I'm confident everything is stable. So far so good, so I'll turn those both back on eventually.

    CPU/NB is @ 2205 I believe, and HT is @ ~3200.

Here is the BSOD code. PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA 0x00000050

I hit my wall with 4.69GHz it seems. If I go past that, I have to up to 1.5 V, which in itself isn't an issue. It's just the head associated with doing so. My socket temps get way too hot, around 75C and core jump to 63C. I don't feel comfortable to keep p95 to keep going at those temps.

On a side note, what kind of scores do you see from Heaven 4.0 @ 1920 @ extreme settings?

I use 1600x1200 res.....I'd have to check heaven thread.

    Edit: here...

My ram is oc'd to 2000 MHz right now. Volts are at 1.65v. That's stock for this set.
CPU/NB Volts are at 1.225 currently. NB HT is at stock 1.1V

*Edit: Thanks for posting your heaven run :)

OK the 0x50 BSOD is prob due to the memory overclock.....400mhz is a lot even for Hynix lol. What are the timings?

Timings right now are 9-11-9-27. Should I loosen them some?

Yep CL9 is too tight, try 10-11-10-30.

And there's really no reason to disable CnQ either....

OK, actually 10-12-10-30 might be more stable.

If you turn on CnQ and the CPU doesn't downclock, go into power options and check min processor state isn't set to 100%.

The stock timings are 9-9-9-27 when @ 1600MHz. I wonder if 11-12-11-30 would be a better way to go? I'll just play around and see what happens.

yeah just see how it goes.

In case you missed my edit: If you turn on CnQ and the CPU doesn't downclock, go into power options and check min processor state isn't set to 100%.

Well no errors in the first 10 minutes of p95 at 10-11-10-30. I'll let it go for a while longer and see what happens.

Well, that was a bit of a waste of time. I forgot to change the tRas in bios. Fail on my part...so I will try again tonight and just use memtest86 so I don't end up wasting 30 minutes before there's some instability. :|

Edit: I just noticed your edit, but thankfully CnQ is working without any issues.

Also i dont get why you would enable cnq? that hurts your overclockablity?? Unless you leave your pc on 24/7 i would turn it off..
