yeah the 32bit version only came with the 32bit files and the 64bit folder was left out completely.

    XP Kernal Files?

Anyone know which files in the XP driver package are equivalent to these of Win7?

    atikmdag.sy_

    atidxx64.dl_

    atiumdag.dl_

    atiumd64.dl_

    atikmpag.sy_

Which file's should be kept from the legacy drivers?

No there are no Legacy xp drivers for DNA that i'm aware of, if there was I think it would support the 3xxx series.

Guide to MOD the XP 32bit drivers by AmiloMan

I found a way how to make the newer drivers work on legacy machines such as the Mobility 2300("It should work for all cards") using the 7900 MOD.

OK, this is what you have to do :
    • Download ATI legacy 10.2 drivers for xp 32bit
    • Download a newer driver version e.g AMD 12.9 xp 32bit drivers
    • copy these four(4) files from the legacy f
      older C:\ATI\Support\10-02_legacy_xp32-64_dd_ccc\Driver\XP_INF\B_95503:

      ati2mtag.sy_
      ati2cqag.dl_
      ati2dvag.dl_
      ati3duag.dl_

Place them in the new drivers folder e.g
      D:\AMD\AMD_Catalyst_12.9_Beta_XP\Packages\Drivers\Display\XP_INF\B145175
      • Modify the inf by searching for 679a.1 and replace the vendor ID with yours.
      • search again and replace the card name with your card's name.
      • You are done Modding:)
        • Uninstall the old drivers and reboot.
        • Go to Control Panel and install your new drivers.
          • Reboot + change the resolution if necessary and you are good to go.

Advantages :You will notice improvements in all games with FPS gains and better graphics quality.Gaming has become so much better.Windows becomes more responsive and smoother.

Disadvantages : You can't install the Catalyst Control Center for the new drivers.I use Radeon Pro instead :)

A big thanks to everyone who came up with ways to get the new drivers working.

As with any MOD do it at your own risk.

After testing modded drivers that I make, it is obvious that there are benefits from using modded drivers, even DXVA is working.. well partially anyway, its progress since DXVA was broken.

See this post to know what i''m talking about:

    http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=378019
Any ideas on why DXVA is green screening on "EVR cust" would be nice:)

I have been working on a modder that I made for myself just to make things easier and reduce the hassle of doing things manually every-time a new driver comes out.
I was thinking of sharing it because it seems no one is modding drivers for DirectX 9 cards anymore, this way anyone can fine-tune the drivers according to their system.

The votes for a mod tool speak for themselves:

Hopefully as time allows I will be releasing it soon.

    Cheers.

HD 2300 Modded Driver of latest 13.5 Beta 2 Release 32/64bit.

I just finished modding the latest stable driver for the HD2300 and X2300 cards.

    13.5 Beta 2 32/64 bit Drivers.
    Windows 7 32/64
    Windows 8 32/64

    You can get it here
    Download
    http://rapidgator.net/file/1072d8d6...st_13.5_Beta2_32&64bit(HD_2300,x2300).7z.html

    Alternate faster link Updated
    http://hugefiles.net/y1tzg8e38phq

Just follow these steps to install them:

    • Uninstall your previous drivers and Catalyst Control Center first.
    • Cleanup driver leftovers.
    • Disable Driver Signature enforcement(F8) when restarting windows.
    • Optionally you can use ReadyDriverPlus to disable driver signature enforcement.
    • Install using Setup.exe nomally.
Notice the performance gains compared to the legacy one's you were using.

    Enjoy!

Can anything like this be done on a ati mobility x1400 card , right now i am using the legacy 10.2 drivers for almost 2 years , i was able to change the catalyst to 13.6 using the mod but the drivers are still 10.2 legacy

Technically you will still be on the 10.2 Legacy Driver but should be able to benefit from all the changes implemented into the modded driver.

There is a modder for all DirectX 9 and 10 cards.
Do you know how to check your DEV-ID ? if you can then confirm if it is supported here http://digitalflem.mydiscussion.net/.
If it is supported just download the tool(use ver 2.0 ;) it is the latest, its the underlined link in the downloads section).

Ps: You can use the latest drivers on your card now, no need to go back to those ancient versions.
