Just as Nv did with some of its cards in the 700 series. Wait for the 290 series to be released, that's new tech.

Honestly i'm glad it doesn't perform much better then 7970, then there is no need for me to spend money on it.

Maybe the 290X will, but it's too expensive for me atm.

The 290 (Non X) is what I've got my eye on tbh.

WThere are two versions available, they seem quite different. This review is for the R9280X-DC2T-3GD5 model, but there is also a R9280X-DC2T-3GD5-V2. The V2 has a completely different cooler, looking much like the original DCII's, 8+8 pin power, and memory clocked lower, at 6000 not 6400. I did read on one article that the R9280X-DC2T-3GD5 is newer than the R9280X-DC2T-3GD5-V2 which doesn't sound right. So, which is better? They're pretty much the same price. What are the temperature and noise differences, and do they overclock the same? Since the v2 has a lower stock memory speed, but higher power availability.

I think a comparison of these two would be great! As I'm sure I'm not the only one confused about this. If they were released 6 months apart it would be easy, but since both are new releases...

R9-280X is much cheaper here in Poland than GTX 770, even than 2GB version.
It's 50-60 EUR cheaper , and about 100 EURO cheaper than 4GB version.

    It's no brainer here.
Any idea why nvidia is soo expensive these days ?

Doesnt sound very convincing to me , there price difference is just too big.
100 EURO is alot in Poland in terms of one product or just graphic card.

Yeah, pretty much only difference is the PhysX.
If you're a battlefield fan then also you gotta consider the upcoming Mantle support which will be exciting.
for pure horsepower then yeah, amd fits the bill, my fav card of 2012 was the 7970 lightning, 2013 ..probably one of the 780s, the windforce x3 version2 is nice.
But sure these 290 /290x cards everyone is waiting to see how they do.

Question was : Why is GTX770 100€ more than R280X while they have same performance.

Having a Physx in some upcoming games (next year) dosn't answer his question, or make any sense.

Usually they're more expensive because they offer other things with their GPU's like 3Dvision, PhysX, Geforce Experience, soon enough shadow play, CUDA and before AMD got their act together better driver support. Keep in mind AMD's new series of cards have just came out and it looks like Nvidia are preparing a few more to fill in the gaps, we'll might see a price drop when those are released.

Yes I feel the same, Spets knows more about the ins and outs, don't get me wrong though, TressFX is superb too and we must hope for more of this just as much as PhysX. Oh I'd love 'Injustice Gods among us' to use TressFX :D I'd pay near double the price for it. PhysX titties double again. (hitman absolution uses PhysX boobs). *ahem, mortal kombat too.

It's not like AMD cards don't offer anything besides performance and the box.
