    No OC results? Awww.

OC results: AMD > everything, lol.

Nice review. Also 7970 has 3GB VRAM. 2 GB in our days is not enough. Anyway 8000 is not so far.
Expecting Nvidia users very soon here

I will be an amd gpu user in a few hours. I don't agree with them recommending the 660ti at all since its the same price as the 7950 ($300+, not $250-300).

We will be watching to make sure they play nicely.

When I installed my 7970 I knew it was a beast, overclocking is where they shine.

Was going to just post this in the news section (a much more neutral place). But the reason the 660Ti was recommended was because, if you are spending 295, then yeah, spend the extra 5 for the better card (the 7950boost @300), but if you are at 240-260 price range (some people are limited) then 660Ti is the recommendation at that price point. That's the "point" of the article.

the GeForce GTX 680 at $500 was cheaper and faster than the HD 7970...lol...they must of only tested nvidia games or just missed out the word "slightly"

You know, I'm reading my own thing and I can't figure out yet what I was trying to say. I was obviously distracted and put two thoughts into a sentence and it makes zero sense.

It's good to see AMD getting some credit for a change. The article more or less stated what I already knew, but it's always nice to have quality sources to reference.

Indeed, AMD did a great job on HD 7000 series price/performance wise.

Price atm in uk is fairly equal atm re 7950's and 660 ti's. I'd def go for the 7970 though over the 680 because you can snag one for around £300....

That would be my pick..but if I couldnt afford that much getting a 660 ti or a 7950 would still be a tough choice due to my reservations about drivers etc..(i'd probably get a 660 ti msi twin fzr if on sale).

I havent tried an AMD gpu for awhile so admit I could be wrong on that score. (reliability etc).

Good for AMD. They need some positive news.

From what ive read, the 8's are only going to be slighty faster 7's, so won't be worth bothering with, thats if you have a 7 series of course.

I read that also. No major architecture changes, prob just a refresh of current gen...
