With Haswell's incredible battery improvements and the second generation of such PC tablets coming out now; you have to be very desperate to pick this up.

You don't have to be desperate.... Just have to be the average consumer that doesn't know what's going on outside of their own little circle... Most consumers have no clue what's going on in the tech industry and therefore jump on deals like this. Doesn't really matter if the price is still a complete ripoff or not. Personally, until Surface and Surface Pro reach the $200-300 and $500-600 range respectively....I won't touch either. I did finally get a chance to play with an Acer Iconia W8 at OfficeDepot the other day....still not sold on it though. At $300, it's still overpriced for the limited functionality.

I got the Surface Pro 128gb, and I am quite happy with it!

It does everything I want to do with it, like browsing, light photoshopping, very light gaming. And the battery is better then any windows laptop I ever had. I don't say it isn't overpriced, but its not "that bad"

$500-600 isn't a great price when you can get a comparable laptop for $300....or a comparable Android tablet for $300-400

And that is the only thing of importance.

Buy something not for its technical specifications, but because it does what you need it to do.

    Everything else is playground bs.
